How do you sneak stuff into the house so that the business manager doesn't know about it?

Do you carry empty boxes with you when you go to the gunshow, or what?

Business Manager? I think you mean your WIFE, mine is affectionately known as "The Warden" after 10 yrs of marriage. :D

Do you recall the phrase, goes something like this, "It is better to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission"? Sure, my wife has a fit sometimes, she gets over it too. Never hide anything, they will find it, and you'll hear about it for days. ;)

put it in the garage first. or always take an extra empty gun case with you to the show (trying to sell off a few rifles) but just really didn't have any luck :)

LOL, I've done the garage thing, but the gun case thing is a good one Rory.
My wife really don't care what I get but some things I just don't want to explain why I "need" another one.

7 day rule

I leave things in the garage for 7 days, and if she doesn't notice..... or quietly go into the shop from the garage and "oh, that it's been here forever". It helps that as long as I don't spend the grocery money she doesn't care what I buy.

It is also fun reminding her that in the long run, since on average women outlive men, someday it will all be hers!

I have a separate, uber secure location that I keep all my goodies in. She visits occasionally, but doesnt say much. Trick is to turn your hobby into a self sufficient beast, then she cant gripe much. It takes a while but eventually the hobby feeds itself. Buy this, sell that. Right now buy guns and sell ammo that was bought several years ago. Hopefully in the future, sell a gun and buy a semi load of ammo. Its a cycle that does repeat itself somewhat, however it is not a rapid cycle. The problem occurs when you allow the beltfeds to eat more than they are supposed to and you have to buy more ammo. Did I mention that its not an exact science.
I dumped all my 50 earlier this year and bought a maxim and vickers. Didnt really care to shoot 50 at $1 a shot, certainly not at $4.
Oh well got to go meet Roadway and unload some ammo. Seems you can still find ammo at decent prices every now and then, So last week I bought ammo.:) Yea, it helps if you know how to work the smiles also ;) ;)

Price of ammo went up and price of guns went down:)

Just kidding, the smiles are not working right now so if you want one you have to do it old school (semicolon/parenthesis);)

So what changed?

When your garage is full of ammo cans/crates/boxes, they dont notice when ya get new ones anyway. Mine finds me deals, she checks the boards and knows what guns and cal ammo i like and knows the value of them so when she sees a good buy she tells me all the time. When we go to KCR shes the first one at the barn Fri mornin with a walkie talkie and she hits one side i hit the other and we communicate and buy all weekend long. I love my wife, a good one is hard to find. I couldnt have done better and shes pertty too.

I almost had mine convinced that guns have nothing else to do in that dark safe except breed and produce more guns. "Gee, honey, I think the Beretta M9 must have got together with one of the Officer's models 'cuz now we have a brand new little Cougar!"

Actually, we worked out a truce. I say nothing about the walk-in closet full of clothes and shoes (all hers, I use the closet down the hall) and she says nothing about what goes on in the shop or den. Works for us.

Mywife is into hobbies/business, fiber arts, weaving, felting, herbal product production with her own business corporation, with a house now mostly full of her stuff, I don't need to hide anything. I just can't use her space. (Married 35 years, so I'm used to it).
