ok other than this being a reproduction.. where is the deception?
well that and it looks like they are posing for the photo
r
This is a nice reproduction of an original WW2 photograph showing a US Army half-track at the Battle of the Bulge
The Battle of the Bulge took place in December and January of 1944, it was reportedly one of the coldest and snowiest winters on record. Look at how they're dressed, look at the ground, does it look cold?
Then look at this pic: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Battle_of_the_Bulge.jpg

Which one looks like it might be legit?
I just can't stand it when somebody has to say look at this pic, it was taken during the most crucial time of the most crucial battle ever fought, when obviously it wasn't. Why not just say look at this cool pic of a halftrack full of soldiers? It's misleading and dishonest
Why does everything have to be so rare? Just let it stand on it's own merits.

The photos are very clear ,My Mom had some stuff like that ,it was from Time /Life ,and the Germans were still well dressed and looked like they were posing ,but America hadn't entered the War yet.
Now the Battle of the Bulge photo i would have to Agree with Mouse ,The ones my Mother had the U.S. Troops looked like they were cold ,hungry ,and Dirty. The guy is way wrong on that photo ,he is either full of it ,or stupid trying to make a Buck.
All of his photos look like everyone is well dressed ,happy ,well fed. Hummm
The Tank is a give away also ,they look like they are out for a Sunday drive ,this had to be in the late 30s maybe France.
The Tigers later than 1942 the flashing and marks from the castings on parts like the turret wasn't ground off nice and smooth .
Like they didn't have time for that ,the Armor Museum in Scotland has several Tigers in it.

Both sides took publicity photos, and that's what this guy is selling. Probably taken on bases and distributed for public relations stuff. Not bad photos - but not what they are being sold as. The seller may have inherited them or acquired them from someone who fed him a line. Or he may be adding some phony background stories to inflate their sales price.

Bill i am trying to look up the U boat and i cant find it , but that Tiger looks better than the ones i saw in the Museum.

P.S. Well he got the U Boat right ,except the Boat itself wasn't Named the Red Devil ,that was the Name of The Wolf Pack it was in .

Clearly a staged photo.

And those sleeping bags on the back look like Modern-ish cold weather sleepingbags. Which are larger (yet compatable pattern with) than the M1949 Mountain sleeping bags. The WWII Sleepingbags, of which I own at least one are TOTALLY different, and are made of brown wool.
