You should try and get all the blowhards to come down from denver to show up and BLOW it back to sea. :D
Yeh.. Rhino.. but this is the last night for the marxist convention.. The republicans should bail from their convention and do it from the superdome and promise us the GNP in repairs and rebuilding..

otherwise they will be alone up north coz the media will be here..

besides katrina morgan city has always been a bullseye i remember the year it was hit 5 times and the lower corner (the SW corner) of the city against the levy wall was under 23 feet of water inside the wall  and if it does hit the morgan city , amelia area the support for offshore oil is gonna be hurt BAD cause most of the rig building yards in LA are in amelia 15 miles down the road east of morgan city

It doesn't help wiping out houma either.. more oilfield support and the fishing/shrimping/ oyster fleets there

I been on many crewboats and helo's going offshore from both cities, and wow.. don't forget the hot wimmin in Thibodeaux coming out of Nichols St.

so true though the Houma main shipping channel holds some Very Bad memories for me, think back to Apr/May 85 ,what happened and how many died, i still suffer the physical effects of recovering those poor souls for their familys . the diesel fuel ate my wet suit, all the rubber in my helmut and my skin ,as well as heavy metal poisining from working in pure drill mud additives recovering one poor soul, it along with what we had to do to bring them home still plague me to this day

when i hit the dock on call out at 3 AM we were told it was a rescue op and rigged accordingly only after arriving on site did we learn that it had been 12 hours before we were called out

i must admit i liked most every rig amazon i met even if she could bench press me one handed but you are very right LA has the most beautiful wimmin in all of the world i have seen and i have been in 6 of the 7 seas at one time or another

around 1980, I used to do seismic surveys below Dulac,.. and all we used to take for lunch was ketchup, tabasco sauce and mustard.. we would pull up on a oyster bar with the marsh buggy and load up,. spending the day eating oysters on the halfshell.. nice n salty too...

Grand Calliou was so much fun.. and across the marshes there.. alligator wrestling,.. plenty of moccasins and rac*****,,, along with them tasty nutreas

Old Coot,
chicken neck stew(with about a LB of black pepper in it) MUM MUM GOOD, a gas boat crew fed us one day on a jet job right close to Dulac, you remember when they put the bypass around Golden Meadow :p sure messed up their speed trap :D i used to go all the way down to Grand Isle all the time to catch a boat out to one rig or another

I remember it as turkey neck stew, the chicken necks went into the crabtraps...

You musta never drove to venice at 3 am.. and have judge perez's finest quite literally orbiting you on hwy 23 looking for a really thin excuse to pull ya over, and we also had to get a Plaquimines parish ID card before you could work down there,,police check, fingerprints and a photo,,, just to work there quite unconstitutional

been to Venice many a time but from the yard on Bayou Black i always seemed to arrive just before sunrise :D the company knew about that little problem ,though before the bypass if we got "trapped" in Golden Meadow they would let you rot in their klink and you would be looking for a new job

you are right it was turkey necks i plead tempory brain fart :p and a very large Macaw chewing on me at the same time ,i tease him by calling him chicken feet and he bites me

update

Well,. I'm just now getting my first band of rain, judging from the radar,.. the rains are moving about 60 mph. I have yet to get any winds.

I put up a new flag (Clean, bright US flag) on the pole and had some good grilled chicken (had to test drive the R2 grill)

Gussie should make landfall about 7-8 am tomorrow, I was told to expect 20+ inches of rain, and south of N.O. they expect storm surges up to 25 feet

I got a recorded message a short tima ago that I am now in a "Mandatory evacuation area". This means I now qualify for FEMA cash (if I apply for it.)and maybe another generator.

20 inches of rain????,.. bahhhhhh,.. 25 foot storm surge?? bahhhhh..

I'm at sea level, how you gonna flood me?? (figure that one out folks).

Tracking map

Looks like after it comes ashore,.. it will go to Ft. Polk and drop some trees at the army base there than go to Dallas.

WWL has one of the better radars locally, but you have to register to use is,.. it is a free site. The wunderground has radar too. just not close in.

I'd like to shake your hand some day so watch your 6.

Hide the Infadel and set a few cases of the Gunners Best out front for the Heineken looter.
That crap will kill anything on two legs .
Well it's not really crap . But it's not my favorite.

Keep posting so we can have a Coots eye view of the storm.
