I have seen 2 come up for sale in the US since MGs have been sold on the internet. One was missing its stock and had some plastic abortion as a stock and was for ever on sturm for sale. The other was sold at auction at RIA. Ian of Forgotten Weapons ahs a video on it and actually shot it. The gun went far cheaper than it should ahve and I kicked myself for not bidding on it.
Except for the fore grip, it looks like a FND BAR. I'm to tired to go get my Rock in a hard place book. Also on a generator right now. No power for the last 15 hours....................
I had a funky looking tripod in my junk box that I hauled around to SAR for several years....one day I was walking around with it in my hand and Bob Landis asked me..."What are you going do with that Polish BAR Bipod"? Said he had been searching for one for a friend for years....and bought it. It made us both happy...I'm just glad somebody knew what it fit.
They are more or less copy of commercial BAR R75.
There were some modification to the rear sight, addition of anti aircraft sight attachment and being able to be mounted on tripod for the same role. They were 2 version of stock used with it one called fish fin. They were used on the Atlantic wall by Germans so I am sure more then 2 made it to States.
