I think I now have all parts for my project and can soon start milling.
Before I buy mills, I have a trigger question.
Is a replacement trigger/sear (KMP) required or suggested?
If its required, is KMP the only mfg????

If you can still insert into and operate a full auto sear/trigger in the weapon after machining, it will be still be illegal. The purpose of the SA triggers/sears is to get one away from FA operation or the ability for FA operation when using original parts in the converted receiver.

There a few different makers of triggers/sears but the two common ones for the home builder are the KMP and WiseLite Arms setups. Both work just fine and both cost about the same.

You may find that other folks make their own semi trigger and sear combos, but I'm here to tell you that Tomt / KMP are TOP NOTCH! They SET the standard that all these other people WISH they could attain!

Now the UP side to buying one of those "other" company parts... You'll get your lesson in customer service and maintenance on your weapon with them!

Get a KMP setup! If it breaks, Tom will likely send you a replacement before yours is still in the mail back to him! Never mind that they RARELY break, unlike others that are made of lesser materials and/or workmanship!

Tomt (KMP) is one of the pioneers in the semi trig design and development and you absolutely, inequivically cannot beat the quality and the service. Look in the biblical 1919 dictionary under "service" and you'll see tom's ugly picture right next to Moses under "saints":).

I got one of TomTs also and just like everyone else I highly recomend you do the same. As much as I hate to mention this..... A while back when I was messing with the ANM2 30 idea, I was loaned an early Valkrie and I am just about 99% sure there was a modified full auto trigger in it. I doubt if you replaced it with a good full auto trigger you could get a shot off, it didn't have much resembling the 1919 lock in it. Some AR parts and a chunk of cold rolled milled out for the lock body so maybe that made it OK. DIdn't ever get to shoot it but it didn't look like a bad idea. Hotch ???

Yeah I'd have to agree after getting a Side plate (ok ) two from Tom @KMP and seeing the machine quality, fit attention to detail etc... I went ahead and ordered a KMP trigger and sear from him also... His work is top rate... why mess around with second rate parts... so you can save $15-20 bones... Now all I need to do is master riveting and I'd be happy (my first attempt are ugly)... B2B
