its time to move on. I needed money so I have sold off my collection and I really have no desire to resume the shooting sports. Thanks for the good advice over the past year or so. I have met some good people through this forum. So I guess what I am trying to say is thanks, and maybe I'll be back someday.

You don't know how many people have said those same words.

wow, just wow. I can understand selling off your guns becuase you needed the cash, **** happens and you gotta do what you gotta do. No desire for shooting sports anymore? I dont know what could ever bring me to the point i could say that. Either way, good luck.

I think to most of us here, that would be like saying "I have no desire to breath anymore!" :D

Firearms are such a large part of my life,,, Jeez, I simply can't imagine me without them. Its not just a hobby to me,,, its the ability to keep tyranny at bay,, the wolves from the door,, the food on the table,, my wife and daughter sleeping safe at night.

When to call it quits.

I cannot understand people that do not enjoy firearms, much less someone quitting because they've lost interest.

I expect I'll loose interest shortly after I stop breathing and then I still hope that in the last few minutes to leave a pile of empty brass and a very hot barrel. Oh, and maybe also start one last fire with tracers.

If heaven is a wonderful place I can imagine lots of F/A belt feds, an unlimited variety of other arms, and of course the ammo never runs out.

I can sympathize and understand. Although I have not been without at least a couple guns since I was about six years old (when I got my first rifles - back in the 1950s), I do go through spells of not shooting. And the cost of shooting keeps going up, the restrictions on where/when you can do it get worse, and the frustrations mount. I can't see myself ever giving up guns - but that's just me. I've certainly had other hobbies and interests that have come and gone over the decades. If cyanidegenocide has only been into this for a year or so, it probably isn't "part of his blood" the way it is for some of us. But having had the experience will have an impact, even if he doesn't recognize it yet. My bet is that someday he'll return.

You know, maybe it's just me, but I see the friends I have around here as more than the fact that we share a common interest in firearms. Even so, I wish you the best and hope you find some other enjoyment that makes you happy. After all, at the end we all only have the sum of our life's experiences, and if you can't look back and see the joy you had during it, what was the point? Good luck, CG.
