I only lack building the T&E. What a blast this was. Cole parts kit,Panacea Beach Bum RSP, and machined internals myself. The tripod was built using tubing and 1/8'' plate. The tripod was way harder than the gun build. Now I know why they're so expensive.LOL.A huge thanks to this forum. I could have never built a 1919 without the information provided on here. Looking forward to the Hernando shoot and maybe another build.
Thank You All,
Calvin

Thanks for the kind words guys. To answer the questions-gun is painted with flat BBQ grill paint. Tripod is Krylon camo paint. I figured if I waited to get it parked I'd never get to shoot it. I can always disassemble it later for parking. Safety bar ''rivet'' is a button head screw.

OK. T&E is done so I went to the range today for a test fire. Fired one round and checked for signs of excessive headspace. It looked good.:) The bolt wouldnt close completly without a light push between shots, so I opened up the headspacing a click at a time. It didnt help so I closed it back to where I started. I found I had loaded the rounds a little too deep into the cloth belts and the belt was dragging against the back of the feed exit.Adjusted the rounds in the belt and she ran GREAT>:D Counting down to Hernando.

Question about the tripod head. Did you form the top half from solid? I can't figure out a good way to do that. I was thinking of cutting four pieces of plate.

Top, two sides and bottom. Form the top and sides appropriately and weld the sides to the top then grind the weld to look presentable.

Thoughts?

Chriskat- I used 1/8'' plate and strap for the head. Go to
http://browningmgs.com/M2BuildSite/Drawings.htm and download the prints. They have a full size drawing of the top head profile. I laid it out on my 1/8'' plate & cut it out. I then used 4 pieces of 1/8'' strap- tack welded around the edge. Tack weld and bend around with a hammer as you go. Then cut the bottom plate to fit.

Legs are 1'' box and 1'' round tube welded together.

Make sure the sides are under the top plate & over the bottom plate or the legs wont fit inside the head. You must have 1'' clear space between top and bottom.
