let's see what I can do

1) I have no idea, most places are already booked that are close, someone else?

2)It's been known to get very bad, get there early no matter what the weathers like though, be prepared for just about anything.

3)Bargins are already snapped up by the other dealers and people they get in either on Wednesday or Thursday:(

4) Good shoes, maybe a hand cart to haul your stuff if it's heavy, back pack and the most important thing is LOTS OF CASH

5)Me, possible both Friday and Saturday

Better start calling for reservations now, I reserve a room before I leave for the next time. Try Shepardsville and Brooks. Both have good motels but may fill up quick.

April shoot is usually muddy, bring boots or at the least shoes you really don't care about. As far as getting there early, it usually doesn't matter unless you're talking about camping and arriving several days before. 9 times out of ten, the upper lot is reserved for one damn reason or another so you'll end up in the lower lot, but they run shuttles continuously. They also have crip parking, so if you have a med tag, bring it.

The TRUE bargains are gone before the show opens to the public... the dealers do their thing, y'know... regardless of the rules.

I'm always there.

Last time I went I stayed at the Holiday Inn by the Louisville airport. It is about 30 min away but easy to get a room. Saw alot of the same people at the shoot and the hotel. Bring money and boots you can get muddy.

The prevailing theme is "it can be muddy" and that is an understatement. If there is much rain the lower lot becomes a major mud hole, with soupy mud on top of slick clay. Definitely bring some boots and rain gear just in case. We stay at the Shepherdsville Days Inn, pretty close by and right by the freeway. Oh yeah, did I mention it can get muddy? There is no such thing as bringing too much cash, more cool stuff than anyone can imagine, and you occasionally find that impossible to find treasure; we found a few NOS Swedish K ejectors back when all the kits were going around with ejectors that looked like they had been chiseled out of the receiver tube and lost all their mounting pins.

If you go to the KCR website they have a list of the motels and hotels close by. I had no trouble getting a room 2-3 weeks before the shoot last year.

As far as deals, I really didn't see any last April. I did see a lot of water and mud! Weather really sucked for that shoot. The displays are mind boggling inside the tent - lots of goodies everywhere! $$$$$$ is an understatement! Double that! I went around about 5 times over the weekend, and I bet I stil missed lots.

IIRC it was a daily fee and not a weekend pass deal. Yup - as early as possible is when to get there. Find yerself a good spot about 4PM for the shoot Saturday night - it's awsome, but the bleachers and rooftop filled up fast, even in the rain!

Have a blast - I'm sittin' this one out....

Those of us who live N Florida get in for $10.00, I hope. Thanks for the boots idea, I got everything covered except for the boots; now that is a done deal. Did some one forget to tell us Floridians what real mud is? We just have sand everywhere here.......

I was there last April.... I am damn glad I brought boots. Getting out saturday night was a nightmare on the lower lot. People stuck everywhere.

Here is a pic from that sunday morning I found pretty funny so I took it... and just so you know this is the upper lot... the better of the 2

I will be there sat and sun...

Dude dont even think of trying to drive that in there unless you want to leave the bottom of the car on one of the humps!!!

they put down new gravel and all but if it rains and then all those people drive/slide/get stuck/crash in there you could really tear that one up.

either take a beater vehicle or a 4wd.
