I hope everyone had a great Holidays Season.

I am writing to see if any of our forum members has any drawings for a 1910 Russian Maxim left side plate, semi right side plate, and/or semiauto parts.

I am also looking for a mg34 reweld jig or drawings/dimensions of the jig.

Thank you in advance.

I have a complete set of prints. The .pdf was too big to upload to this forum. At 231K, I could email it.

Thanks. This would be a good candidate for dropbox or google drive. Both free. Would you happen to have an account. I can send links if I can find them. I will also search the reference you provided. Thanks again.

Looking for MG34 welding jig to buy, rent, build

Hi, first post for me on this forum even though I have been lurking for quite a while.

I recently bought an MG34 with a Philadelphia Ordnance display receiver, and later a demilled receiver to get dimensions from and to have an option on which route to build a semi-auto:

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=531301173

I am considering splitting the display receiver to mill the roller channels, then TIGing it back together, or just welding up the demilled one and maybe selling the Philadelphia one.

I looked around for welding jigs, and talking to Stan at Project Guns, found out that the market for those has thinned out and he has none in stock and doesn't plan to have any more made up for the near term.

Does anybody have a similar jig to sell/rent or drawings I can get a copy of so I could make my own? It sounded like the thread was mainly referring to the Maxim drawings; and I haven't contracted the WWI bug as yet - still delirious with my WWII Nazi small arms infection. (I am told there is no cure, so I am collecting parts kits while they are still available)

Thanks,
Howard

Howard & Junking,

Try this site for info on your MG34 project...

http://www.mg42.us/viewforum.php?f=53

I just bought a TNW and haven't got out to shoot it yet. Did a lot of reading on the mg42 site, and there is a lot of info . As in putting the mg34 firing spring in opposed to TNW's . Much better trigger pull.

And I'm sorry to say that parts are drying up, a lot of Venders (dealers) are hitting the bottom of the barrel.

I just hope with your kit that you got a charging handle. Heard a lot of kits came without & I think I seen one on Ebay that went for $300 /400 + .

You can Email me, because I am a nut. I have bought many things have many site to go to. As IMA , running low on parts. Yugo ammo can $24.95 no markings & same thing as a german can, frt site tool $24.95 & firing pin $19.95

Rich,

Thanks for the reply; I have been reading everything I can find on rebuilding these, and saving some of the better ones in case the SHTF on these forums. Here is one of my favorites, with tutorials on the receiver and bolt: http://www.projectguns.com/mg341.html

The home page doesn't have a link to this anymore, so I am glad I bookmarked it earlier.

I couldn't find any dimensions on a reweld jig on the mg42.us forum, but there is some neat stuff on there; thanks for forwarding the link.

Anybody else with a line on MG34 receiver welding jigs?

I am also still looking for drawings, rental, or to purchase a welding jig. Worst case scenario, one could take a look at those pictures online and reverse engineer a jig with receiver drawings available online. That may have to be the course of action.

If anyone has a jig they would lend me, I would be able to make a set of drawings for a jig and make it available, or if one one could scratch the dimensions on a paper and send it, that would also be appreciated.
