Anybody know the size of the screws that attache the pintle latch to the bottom of the head? I am building a tripod and am nearly at the point to attach the latch, or at least drill and tap the holes, but I can't find the size. They look smaller than 1/4" in the pics I can find but I'd like to have them the correct size.

One other question if you don't mind. Is the latch itself supposed to "bottom out" in the slot in the pintle? Or does it bear against the bottom beveled edge to provide some downward force?
