LOL! So in response to Karl T's question of whether I have the old BFS thread on these 50 BMG models' differences I will start this new one. Be careful what you
ask for! Should make an interesting Holiday project!:D

First the obvious:

1. Parts between the M2 and M3 covers are not exchangeable. BUT either of the complete cover assemblies can be used in place of the other
one.

2. Parts between the M2 and M3 Bolts are not exchangeable-without modification-But either of the complete Bolt assemblies can be used in place of the
other provided modifications are made to the caming.

Now, as soon as I get privileges to post attachments I can start posting the really good stuff such as schematics I have accumulated over the years.

Perhaps the MODS can create a sticky string that we can put info in ? I have a lot of info on the Browning 50 including a lesson plan I prepared for some engineers / mgmt types on the basics of dis assembly and cleaning. I dont have much on the M3, since I never messed with these much we could capture some of the FN made gun info as well.

We probably have a lot of the same information because it has been passed around so much that I'm not even sure who to credit it too. I do have
a few dimensions drawings I made of a M2 trunnion and a Breech Lock Cam that I will post when I get around to it. And I will have to search and
verify but I am pretty sure I have some M3 schematics/blueprints too.

The latest. I am having to assess whether the posted schematics are actually useful in terms
of downloadable pictures that are not blurry. Once I've got that better under control more will flow!

For those needing a reference on parts or just a refresher reference there is the following:

The Barrel Group picture is for an ANM2 (for aircraft) and on the M2HB or M3HB the barrel shroud would have the barrel support instead.

For those interested, I posted M2HB Tripod schematics/plans in a separate thread in that topic section. Didn't want to
muck up this thread with support equipment for the M2. I will also start a thread for the M31c Jeep Pedestal BMG
Jeep mount in that topical section (Tripod threads) soon.

The RSG Assembly or Retracting Slide Group is basically the same for both the M2, M2HB, and the M3.
More good news in other words. However, there are slight differences in the RSG frames for the diffferent
models that don't make a difference in functioning or switching out for the other model.

M2HB Trunnion Blue print

I did not draw these but I did augment them at some point. Also, the
numbers given are as close as I could estimate them from the decimals given. Feel
free to do your own estimation of fractions for machining from those decimal values.
:)

This is one of two posts for the m2hb trunnion blue prints that I have. Like I said, I don't know
who drew these. But I tried to enhance the to make them easier to use.

A side comparison of trunnions M2-M2-FN M2

Here are three photos that compare trunnions' between M2-M3-FN.

It is my understanding that all three are interchangeable except that the
FN sight base is different and would have to be adjusted for and the plate
around the sight base has it's rivet holes in different places and so would
have to be adjusted for on the M2 or M3 plates.
