WEB UPDATE: Man takes AK-47 in grocery store, admits it wasn't "very smart"

After a local man was arrested while riding his bike with a AK-47 semi-automatic rifle in tow Thursday morning, he admitted he probably wasn’t being “very smart,” according to the police report.
Just before being pulled over on Milan Road near Great Wolf Lodge, Travis R. Frank, 25, 500 block Carroll Ave., was inside Meijer.
A Meijer clerk became alarmed when Frank revealed he took the gun into the store in a guitar case at about 5:30 a.m., police said, adding that Frank was trying to buy ammunition.
Frank left the store without any ammo and was charged with disorderly conduct, police said. Inside the guitar case, police found the weapon along with two empty magazine cartridges.
