WEB UPDATE: Man takes AK-47 in grocery store, admits it wasn't "very smart"
Friday June 20 2008, 12:47pm

PERKINS TWP.

After a local man was arrested while riding his bike with a AK-47 semi-automatic rifle in tow Thursday morning, he admitted he probably wasn’t being “very smart,” according to the police report.

Just before being pulled over on Milan Road near Great Wolf Lodge, Travis R. Frank, 25, 500 block Carroll Ave., was inside Meijer.

A Meijer clerk became alarmed when Frank revealed he took the gun into the store in a guitar case at about 5:30 a.m., police said, adding that Frank was trying to buy ammunition.

Frank left the store without any ammo and was charged with disorderly conduct, police said. Inside the guitar case, police found the weapon along with two empty magazine cartridges.

what state is that from?

i take it he opened the case and showed the clerk the gun to buy ammo for it or some thing like that. How else could the clerk have known he had the gun to call the po po. Im guessin thats the disordely conduct.

i dunno, something about that story just dont make sense.

Trying to buy ammo gets you disorderly conduct?

Something is odd here...

So, what's wrong with open carry? That's been an American (U.S. of A.) tradition for at least 401 years! BFD.

So,
Carry On!

yeah thats what i thought. unless the store was posted with a no firearms sticker how did he break the law. and even if they have a sticker all they can do in kentucky is make you leave.
sounds like this guy was just to stupid to get out of it. probably plead guilty

No kidding....since when does this get you in trouble?!?!

reading some of the feedback on the page it sounds like the paper is very anti-gun probably filled with liberal-elitists more commonly known as socialists.
