The only ones I have seen that looked original were done for the restoration of a sled belonging to the Mississippi Military Museum. These were done by a craftsman there unfortunately he isn't doing work for individuals.

Thanks Kirby. I would imagine given the correct pattern most saddlers could make excellent examples as they were of course hand made. Presumably cow leather along with all the stomachs for zeppelins.

I am not going to tell anyone I have some spare pads and horse hair sitting around. Frankly I think they are not worth replacing. If you see that big ass rivets you have to remove and replace.... I don't think I would do it. All the repro pads I have seen stick out more than if you just leave them as they are...
