Has anyone had any experience with the new mg42/53 semi that is available now? I think they are by Century Arms but I am not sure. I saw that Centerfire Systems had them for sale and I wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with the gun or the vendor.

Thanks

I have read praise by new owners, especially by people who do not have the equipment/resources to build a parts kit themselves.

So for a little over $2k you get a near turn-key gun with a warranty, of course how they honor that warranty during the next gun ban will be beyond me. It is kind of like that lifetime warranty Cobray gave me on my M11…

The Century M53/MG42 semi has been a long time in work. Wiselite did indeed build these, and I know of some people involved with it, so the ones that were built are top notch. In fact, new owners on mg42.us report that they work right out of the box.

I don't know how many kits Century had. But I do know the project turned out to be much more difficult than expected. I have a hunch that Century/ Wiselite won't be building more than this first batch (I hope I'm wrong). If they do, I'd expect that the price will increase drastically.

CFS had them on their latest SGN ad, so I called CFS. They received only three, and have a backorder for 139. I didn't bother to add my name to the list.

BTW, Century/ WLA will not sell to NY state, despite these firearms being perfectly legal there.

My M53 build on a Wise Lite receiver is a stones throw away from completion. It's been a ***** to say the least. A lot of modifications to original parts.

Abominog I'm not sure there legal in NY. Belt feed (1) pistol grip (2) and a flash suppressor (3). I believe we are only "allowed" two "evil" features, correct me if I'm wrong. I actually hope I'm wrong, that would mean I could try to find one at a PA gunshow.

I've bought other firearms from WLA and I had an issue with some of them I sent them back and they came back in working order. My experience with WLA has been very good they are responsive to your concerns.

Wise Lite Arms is this true?

Century Arms put there name on your semi M53.
After you buy one of the production semi-auto M53's you will note that it is marked "Wise Lite Arms"
WLA has a entire area devoted to the manufacture of this product and a team of experienced people that concentrate all their effort on producing these guns.
To order one the best bet is get on the list of a distributor for Century Arms products. The distributors placed big orders before the M53 was openly offered.
As to the orders that are already placed, WLA is increasing output every cycle.
The response from customers has been very positive.
I hope at some point we get caught up so I can buy one for myself!

The "evil" features include pistol grip, bayonet lug, flash hider, and DETACHABLE MAGAZINE. The NYS law defines feeding devices to include belts, drums, and MAGAZINES. Therefore, the law recognizes that a magazine is a feeding device (but not vice versa); the "evil" feature is specifically called out to be a magazine, not a feeding device.

Ergo, a belt is not an evil feature. Go read section 265, it's quite clear.

Richard, thanks for the continued updates on the M-53 project. I have only heard/read good things about these semi-autos. Can't wait to get mine, I am on the list with a couple of places so I don't miss out. Hope to see you at one of upcoming Tanner shows. Cheers to you and WLA for bringing these awesome weapons out, Steve
