Hi all random question I have a yugo shroud that the barrel bushing is pretty knarly. I would like to know if anyone knows anyone that can splice in a new front demilled section From RTgParts to the shroud? Or is it easier to find someone to do the bushing?

The short answer is JaredLewman here.

Now the long answers.

Replacing the bushing is kinda like headspacing in that there is a certain length window to be achieved.

If you replace with a MG3 front end, it will have a MG3 bushing, and you'll need to use a MG3 bearing, and need to accommodate the change.

If you use an aftermarket bushing you need to set it based on distance from the front of the locked barrel. This is pretty well described in the BRP build tutorial https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct...G42SAsbs.pdf&usg=AOvVaw16SqcB4qfl7v3YB7zOvp6P

It's best to get the rest of the receiver welded up and do the barrel bushing last.

The bushing is actually a separate part from the shroud and with some persuasion from a grinder you can remove enough weld that it will just tap out of the shroud. Then you take a new or used replacement bushing set the overall length of the receiver the figure for which escapes me at present and weld in the new one. Be careful not to build up too much heat as it will screw up the slots that the bearing slides into pretty handily.
