The MSG rivets are excellent but I think they are purposefully non-milspec, because most folks don't have the industrial equipment to set those. I think when he says they are BFH-spec, that's BigFrigginHammer-spec. It's easy enough to ask him, he answered all my questions by email before I ordered stuff from him.

You are exactly correct. My objective was to make a set of rivets that would insure a good result for the home builder using a Bucking bar and rivet gun or hammer.

Many board members complained that several rivets in the Mil-spec. sets were short, so extra length was added to the front Top plate, long Pintle pad, and large Trunion rivets. Also, the head on the Bottom plate rivets is larger to match the appearance of those in the LSP once set. With the move to 100% RSPs, I may make these smaller on future runs.

With tongue firmly in cheek, I started calling them BFH (Big F#*%+#! Hammer) -spec. I was in a similar mood when I drafted the Letter of Organization for my company. It seems half the businesses in Milledgeville, GA are named “Old Capital” - whatever. As Sherman burned the thing on his way through town, “Burnt Capital” seemed more appropriate.

I need to draw up a logo with smoke rising from a shattered, gothic capital building.
