Well I got my 1914 Lewis Gun parts kit from gunbroker
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=495450397
The seller didn't really give much of a description. So I took a gamble. It is definitely very cool. I think it is all there except receiver and maybe some springs. It is currently setup on a dummy aluminum receiver. I definitely want to turn this into a semi. I know I saw this kit for sale at one time as a post sample. but can't find it. Just wondering what the seller had into it. it is really cool. Probably going to get a cad scan of an original receiver and get to work. If anyone has any armorers drawings that would be a great help. Here are a few pix to tide you over.

dont know if you need them, but IMA has drums on sale, and they seem to be in really nice shape. I got six, and all have been in very good shape.

Beautiful kit gunrunner, looks like nice wood too.
Will make a great semi if you get it built. Thanks for posting the pic.

They are not drawings that would do you much good in making a receiver. They are basically a picture of all the parts used in the gun and the associated accessories.

Technical drawing Drawing Line art Diagram
Gun Firearm Trigger Machine gun Revolver

Here is a scan of the drawing he is selling on ebay

I will not have it up long on my drop box account since I use it with client file transfers.

Gunrunner99,

PM me your email & I will send you PDF's of several drawings & manuals that I have. (and anybody else that wants them too!) It might not be very fast, I just got out of the hospital.

BTW, I rebuild Lewis pans too.

Got em thanks. I will have to keep an eye out for one of those gunners kits as I do not see them at IMA anymore. I did just discover I am misiing two pieces. Hopefully I can find them. The magazine post center key and the shuttle arm. The hunt begins.

gunrunner99,
I realize you may be tapped out at the moment after scoring this gem, but, you might want to get ahold of amish-bob here on the board. He had a Lewis mag loading tool for sale recently, pretty sure he still has it. Thought I'd mention it since they're not something you see for sale everyday......

Congrats on acquiring such a desirable piece! Good luck with the build, and keep us posted on the progress.

Hi do you plan to keep or sell the dummy Lewis receiver? I would be interested in buying it, if you plan to sell.

Thank you.

American Machinist Drawings for Lewis

Hello,

I realize I am resurrecting a long-dead thread, but here are some links that might appeal to folks with similar interests.

Back during WWI the magazine "American Machinist" published a series of illustrated articles detailing the manufacture of Lewis guns (as well as articles on a number of artillery pieces). They are mostly about setting up the machine tools to make the components, but occasionally include some interesting plans. Here is the series on the Lewis Gun:

Part I - Forward:

Part II - Receiver (with detailed plan):
