I did get all together (1919a4 308 cal) at the end of Oct 20 rds have been through it seems ok. I keep checking the casings the headspace is fine. I had to guess at it no gage yet I turned the barrel all the way in and turned it out 2 1/2 turns and ran a couple of none firing shells through it by hand and looked at the marks and turned it out two more clicks and ran live ammo through it and it all seems ok. I am ordering a headspace gage and wrench. I still have to sand blast and parkerize it yet. Should I run some more ammo through it or is that enough? Thanks to Brian,Pirate, tomt and shots for the web sight and members that have posted info. Yep I know its a money pit but it sure is fun and I will be reloading shells.

I would run a couple hundred before parking or finishing...Check to see if will run good with a truon protecter...That way after you park or finish it you can avoid finish wear on the truon...I ran about 800rd's before I completed mine...Just after 250rd's I broke a barrel extention..I replaced it and ran the rest of the 800rd's...After all the parts got settled in, and I was sure it was trouble free...I gave it a dark black park....Plus , in that brake in period I did not have to worry about cleaning real good....just make sure you scrub the barrel and wipe down the rest.
