OK guys, what do you do if your at work and the phone rings and a friend who knows nothing of guns is at an auction and says they are about to sell an army green tripod? You ask what it looks like and he says a little under waist high and heavy-how much do you want to bid? OK, that would get any of our hearts beating
This is what I got and no, I have no idea what it was for other than some type of transit maybe. There are no holes for mounting and no bubbles but two sets of legs. If nobody knows what this is or if it has no current value, I am going to drill a hole for mounting a 1919 on it. You kow, this has those "rare short legs for trench warfare"
Really, its a very well built piece probably out of the 60's. Lots of nice casting and machining. I suppose it was Corps of Engineers and thats why its OD? Please solve my mystery. Thanks, Hotch
