First 1919 build and I have my kit here and noticed the bullet guide has been welded AFTER it was bent. Should I cut this weld and try to straighten it?

You can see a weld on the left and one on each end on the bottom.

wait a second, I took another look and what your talking about is not the bullet guide but the bracket. No real harm in having that welded on as I've seen it on quite a few guns, just go ahead and build it as is. (I think LUCKY13 had some new brackets made)
So, that hanging down won't bother anything? Just cosmetic?

Boy I don't know,, are you building it in 7.62x51/308? If so, see if the 308 guide will fit in place. The guide fits into the cutout in the bracket and is held in place by the belt pawl pin. With the bracket bent so low, the pin may not even slide in, and there may be clearance problems for the guide.

In theory, you could modify the forward guide by removing some metal from the bottom so it would have clearance to slide in.

I looked all over last night for this part,,, gettin slim out there. I have one more kit and I think I may hold onto it for this reason. Extractor cams are another part that would be nice to have a couple of spares.

If you end up needing a new bracket, I do have them, at $40 shipped. I have seen Len's cams too and they are excellent. If you replace the bracket and need the Izzy modified version, then TARGSHOOT is your man. Mine are USGI spec.

To me, it doesn't look like the front end of the bracket is too low, but fitting your front 308 spacer and pin will prove that one way or the other. If you do need to replace the bracket, you will need to pull your trunnion back out. Looks like you just riveted it in, too!
