Hi Gang,

I have tech manuals, TM 9-1005-208-35 & TM 9-1005-208-12. 208-12 is pretty good showing me how to break down the gun for cleaning. However, certain instructions and steps are left out on the assumption that the operator knows it already! Are there any other less technical manuals or DVDs that show a more detailed break-down of all the groups that should be cleaned & lubed?

Best info

I have a 1918A3 semi-auto, and the best instructions for that particular model are in the manual that came with it.

However, the best manual not dealing with operation, markmanship, and tactics is a publication titled "Ordnance Field Service Base Shop Data Rifle, Auto., Cal.30, Browning M1918A2" ( B.S.D.-AR.-1) This publication was prepared by the Chief of Ordnance at the Rock Island Arsenal and is dated Feb. 1943. I bought this copy at a gunshow where one of the vendors specialzed in reproductions of FM's and TM's and other materials pertaining to military firearms.

It has sections on complete dismantling, assembly, and a section on drawings for various special purpose tools that were fabricated for the BAR. All of the graphics are line drawings, very clear, with step by step text that is easy to read and understand

I will keep an eye out for that one but I am looking for a modern version and maybe a DVD. Tanks....:)
