So I have three long (15") wooden WWI ammo boxes, two have short brass hinges (rear and middle) and one has a long recessed brass hinge (front). I am sure some of them are M1915 Colt Vickers boxes but unsure if they all are if one is for a different gun. Only difference is the type hinge and I believe they all are sized for .3006 ammo.

Would appreciate any experts on ammo boxes to help with this.

Wood Box

Searched the forum and think I found the answer to my question (from back in 2010). All three are M1915 Colt Vickers boxes with the raised hinge boxes being made earlier than the one with the recessed hinge.
