I need help repairing a Vickers tripod rear pin. The obtrusion (actually, it's called a feather) on the top pin needs to be replaced. The bottom pin has the proper feather and can be used as a pattern. The feather appears to be replaceable but I'm not sure. Please PM me if you can help.

Drilling and broaching or maybe even EDM the old feather out is probably the correct way to go. Either way it won't be cheap

However, if you just want it functional to lock the pin when in use, you might try building the original feather with a tig welder and hand filing back to a square shape.
