All,
I had an interesting conversation with a friend this weekend. He was talking with a FFL/SOT that made a comment that next spring/year some new rules are going into effect that will affect availability or price of semi-autos (ar15 was his example. Any idea what he is referring to?
Thanks

If the next President is a DEM, you can expect that they will sign HR1022 (it's on hold until after the elections).

HR1022 is the new "assault" weapon ban, which pretty much bans everything, including some shotguns.

HR1022 also makes it illegal to own parts for an assault rifle (such as a pistol grip).

HR1022 makes parts kit sales illegal, and building kits into rifles illegal.

It should be noted that HR1022 is only ONE of many bills waiting for a dem president to sign into effect, and not all of the bills have sunsets, so we never get a chance to get the rights back.

Currently Importers are not importing parts kits, as nobody want to stock a bunch of kits they might not be able to sell down the road.

We could very well be at the end of an era when it comes to parts kits.. the selection is WAY down and the prices are high, and the next president will determine if we ever see a good selection in the country again (without barrels).

Prices for assault rifles would jump way up (again), and an individual would need to go though an FFL dealer to sell anything.

It's not a pretty picture of what "could" happen in the near future..

My local gun dealer and I were talking and he told me
He never sold more guns then when Klinton #1 aka the "zipper" was in office then any time he was in business.
"BAN TALK is good for business":)
However I think this time around the Dems/Commies have gotten a little smarted.. if that's possible:rolleyes:
They are REALLY ready to re-write the laws at a federal level.
They will push it over the line and it/ the new laws will go to the surpriems..
after that..
ALL BETS ARE OFF.
I e-mailed my new COMMIE REP about my view on gun-control.
This is his reply..
typical of a COMMIE-MASSHOLE LAWYER.
I live in northern New Hamshire and I have a COMMIE-LAWYER-FROM MASS that is my congressman:mad:

"Thank you for contacting me about gun control. As your Representative in Washington, I am working hard to listen to and promote the ideas of the people of New Hampshire. Your participation in the legislative process helps me represent New Hampshire's Second District more effectively.
The U.S. must adopt and maintain policies that balance upholding the gun rights included in the Second Amendment of the Constitution with the privileges afforded by this right I believe that our Second Amendment right to "keep and bear arms" is compatible with our need for responsible use of our guns and protections of our citizens. New Hampshire has a long and proud tradition of responsible gun ownership and use.

The debate over gun rights is not a new one. However, as a new member, I believe I can bring reason and a new perspective to the discussion. Thank you again for communicating your views on gun control. If you would like more information on this or any other issue, please visit my website at http://hodes.house.gov. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future to express your views or if I can be of help on any matter.

OK ,We have NRA sell outs, Lying representatives , High dollar mags and guns.
But they forget one little thing , Winchester 1886 ,Marlin, 1894 in 38/55. I like you will hate this new bill ,and do what i can to stop it. But a rifle in 45/70 can shoot anything from cast wheel weights for bullets ,to crud powder made from match heads. and the impact from this round will crush a rib cage even behind a vest. I have played with this round for years and i can make it act like a 458 Mag. A lever action can be very fast ,and 45LC is as deadly as a 45ACP. I hope it dosent come to this ,but if they start going after these guns then all the ass hats who sat on their ass ,and said we didn't need black rifles will be squealing like a pig at the loss of their SAA.

I doubt there will be much of a mass buying of guns if any of the new bills go thru,, from what I have seen there won't be any grandfathering,, people ain't gonna buy just to have em confiscated a month later. My only hope is that if it is too extream, it won't go thru,, being private property and all.

How many LEOs are going to enforce stuff like this,, remember,, the Nuremburg Defence won't be working this time.

Don't forget this stuff has to get through both houses of Congress before any President signs it. Not sure if that is truly possible. The Dems don't have the votes now, and that is one reason they have tabled HR1022, aside from the assumption that GWB would veto it. (Not so sure he would.) Even if the Dems get a larger margin in both houses for 2009, it still might not be enough, no matter who is on PA ave.

Bush didnt go along with it  even knowing shorter barrels would make body armor more effective. the entire bunch of butts in a bus ,want our guns.
Look at the ballistics of say a 223 comeing out of a 16in barrel VS a 10in pistol barrel ?

I could only "hope" that they would have a grandfathering clause, since there would be an uprising if the gov't started seizing private property without any compensation.

Lucky is right ,out here all ranchers have a Ruger mimi 14 ranch rifle ,or an AR ,and they do use them ,to them they are a tool just like the rest of their gear. The gun Ban in Australia has caused food prices to spike , Ranchers and farmers go out each day to find 3 % of their taxable/sellable product rotting in a field because of prediters. Crocs ! now braver ,and bigger are even showing up in school yards . Lots of tasty little things there  Firearms show up all the time ,people defending themselves ,And some local LE knows nothing about it ever happening.

Well, it doesn't look good either way. Our ONLY hope is to regain control in Congress. Better buy what you want while you can. I don;t see them coming after stuff already bought. That would open up a huge can of worms.

You know, there has to be a certain point where at least some people say "No; enough" and they either wind up with simple civil disobedience, or outright rebellion. Confiscation may just be that very point. Besides, if things keep going along the present course, then the looming economic meltdown and collapse may just keep them FAR too busy to worry about trying to take on gun owners, on top of trying to control the rioting masses in the cities when the checks stop coming (or won't buy anything even if they still do) and the local groceries' shelves start getting bare. They can pass all the laws they like, but once the American people come to the conclusion that if the illegals don't have to bother OBEYING those laws, and the gangbangers STILL don't bother obeying ANY laws- or care WHO they victimize- then good luck to them on getting Mr. and Mrs. America to actually COMPLY with the new bans and start turning in their guns. The first few "examples" they make may scare a few into line, but it will also enrage many more to action; and the very ones who are most likely to resist are also the ones who are the best armed, and most capable of doing so. The Nazis in DC are arrogant, but they are not stupid. If they thought they could ban and confiscate guns successfully, don't you think they would already have done so? I don't see a confiscation being enacted; but a grandfathered ban might get shoved down our throats. Then it would just be a matter of attrition, if we couldn't sell them and buy parts or ammo for them. Kind of like what they have done with the machine gun crowd- make it a rich man's "hobby" and hope that those who already have them would be placated by their current weapons skyrocketing in price.

Greed is something our reps in Washinton understand VERY WELL.
But a rifle without ammo is nothing more then a door stop.

Answer!! buy only blow back weapons. I have shot BP out of a FA Mac10 before .Lots of smoke ,only good for about 120 rounds ,but it did fire. Same with my 91 ,been there done this all with cast bullets from wheel weights ,lubed with crisco. Primers are the key ,big time.try it ,it works, load your 308 like a very hot 30/30 .and your 45 at about 40 gns.sfter a thing like this there will be a lot of full autos lying around with a bunch of ammo.

The way I see this for this particular thread is that this gun dealer just read up on this and is on the back end of this wave. What we need to concentrate and even tell this dealer is to write letters and let his voice be heard on the hill.

This is a link to the bill,, http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c110:H.R.1022:

Question is,,, what the hell does the following mean???

SEC. 4. GRANDFATHER PROVISION.

Section 922(v)(2) of title 18, United States Code, as added by section 2(a) of this Act, is amended--

(1) by inserting `(A)' after `(2)'; and

(2) by adding after and below the end the following:

`(B) Paragraph (1) shall not apply to any firearm the possession or transfer of which would (but for this subparagraph) be unlawful by reason of this subsection, and which is otherwise lawfully possessed on the date of the enactment of this subparagraph.'.

buying guns as an investment is tricky. your entire investment can be turned to zero in seconds

columbus ohio had a law that you had to register AW
you were then not able to sell, transfer, or even bequeath
them to a rightful heir. you had to turn them over to the city
when you were done. the people of this fine metropolis were
ok with it. i kept all of my arms in another county.
