New year, new wtf moments. 2 different 1917s in for rebuild. Neither are here because of this specific set of issues. One, the jacket had been taken apart, solder cleaned off and reassembled with permatex black.... except they didnt line the end cap up straight. The other 1917, somebody thought bondo was a good idea.... ffs. I wish bubba would stick to cars and not mgs.

Some kinda quasi gray black to look like bad park and dirt.. a little worn black paint on top of the brass components.

I think there was about a $2K difference in price between a parkerized 1928 Colt water cooled and the blued ones that were built and sold by OOW. They probably sold a majority of the parkerized ones.

My hourly rate automatically goes up by half if you walk in the door with a "shoebox" gun or one that looks like those two water jackets. Doesn't break my heart at all if they go somewhere else. Have plenty to do and less patience every day I get older.

I am right there with you brother I have four shop rates one for one if I do it, one if you watch, one if you want to help and one for rebuilding junk and they increase dramatically in that order.
