A few years ago there was a fellow in Round Rock Texas who straightened these bent barrels. He owned a motorcycle restoration company and used a 30 ton hydraulic press, maple wood blocks, and pin gauges to straighten the bent barrels. He straightened a few bent 30.06 Vickers barrels for me. After straightened, they worked just fine. Back then, Sarco sold these barrels, unused and in mint condition, for 20 bucks each. Sarco still sells these barrels, but the current ones don't appear to be in mint condition.

That is a shame but with the right equipment and some patience I bet they could be saved. It would take some time and good gauges to check them but it could be done.
