Ragnar Benson said years ago,," one person cannot survive alone". There needs to be a communal effort. I read a very good book last year,, "Patriots", available from Freds. Lots of info on equipment, tactics, in a novel form. Another is the original survival book,, "Lucifer's Hammer" all time favorite if you want to see worst case scenario.
I may be overly optimistic, but I really find it hard to see a nuclear scenario,, at least not toe to toe, all out,,, nuclear devise in NYC, yes,, dirty bomb,, yes,, mid east nuclear,, yes. I cringe to think of US vs China in a nuclear stand off,, I don't think I have the energy. And I don't think there is enough room under the desk for Lobo AND me
Very upsetting,, I thought we had dodged the bullet,, I would like to see my daughter grow up in a peaceful world,,, she can field strip an AK in 30 seconds,,, I hope she never needs the skill. ( just got in a 640 rd tin of 762x39 from SG
)
I'm glad to live in the mountains,, not much growing season, but then,, I'm not much of a farmer. Its a small comunity,, hopefully it would pull together. If your well armed,, you can always offer your skills as guard to the unprepared.
I've said it before,,, save some of those belts for a rainy day.
