Anyone here know how the 37mm hotchkiss revolving cannon works? Is it similar to how a gatling gun functions, except with bigger bullets? I just thought it looked cool, and was the biggest multi-barreled "gatling-looking" gun i have ever seen.

Umm if anyone has any pictures of an even bigger revolving cannon / gatling gun, i'd love to see lol .

The Hotchkiss mechanism is completely different than the Gatling gun. I have a video of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZqASIfB5j8o. The Hotchkiss actually stops revolving to fire before moving on. This is more accurate compared to the Gatling gun which the change of POI is based on crank speed. Each barrel on a Hotchkiss is also slightly different rifling twist rate to give it some shot dispersion.

According to "Machine Guns" by Ian Hogg, the big difference between the Gatling and the Hotchkiss was that "the Gatling had a bolt and breech mechanism for each barrel and the Hotchkiss had only one bolt which locked and unlocked into each barrel in turn... Because of these mechanical differences, the Hotchkiss was never considered to be infringing Gatlings patents.."

Thanks for video, that would be sooo cool to have a hotchkiss . I'd lovew to shoot over-sized .22 bullets. who needs to hunt deer.. pfft you could hunt dinosaurs with that gun lol.

anyone got a hotchkiss parts kit lying around? lol just kidding. I saw a hotchkiss (not parts kit) for sale for like $100,000+ . Pretty sure i couldnt afford that ...
