I just got a $250 Walther P38 9mm. That thing is amazing. Except for one spring that needs replacement, this thing will probably last me a lifetime.

Instead of reblueing it, has anyone tried painting a gun like this? I thinking an HK black finish will look good.

Any comment is appreciated.

Congrads! Just bought one yesterday, former German PD (dated 1961) and in EXC condition, holster/spare mag and factory Walther box, $325 out the door.

You could paint it, Dura-Coat or whatever, would like to see before/after pics.
