I am looking at a Romanian PKM kit. Any opinions re: quality, value, ease of simi build?

The Hungarian kits were the best(my friends looked brand new). I bought a Romanian kit and returned it as it was very beat up but I can only speak for the kit I got.

Kits are going for $2,500-ish, and built up semi guns are going for over $6,000 ... So I'm thinking of buying a kit too!

The Hungarian kits do appear to be brand new @ around $2,600. I don't think my tripod had ever been opened up. All matching #'s, unissued - perfect. The Romaian kits showed quite a bit of wear, don't come with as many goodies but are about half the price.

Assuming the barrel is okay, the Romanian kit should refinish to make a nice gun.

I guess you cant buy just the PKM receiver alone, only the completed gun?

there was a thread on ak files or ak forums with a company selling the semi rec , $1050 if memory serves, I bought one and they are beautiful
