That was all so true ! Made me laugh
Thanks Goose :D
That's neat. In Memphis, you just get a busy signal.

We are going for a personal best. We peaked at 213 homicides in 1993. We are up to 85 (oops, I mean 87) this year (may be higher, haven't checked the news in about an hour).

With lots of effort and teamwork, I'm certain we can break that old record!
What number do you press to get the lazy fatass cop out of the IHOP and back to work after his two hour lunch.

In my lovely hometown, the cops go on TV to announce when they will stop arresting shoplifters and car prowlers because the jail is full, they also do this for the Christmas shopping season.

Last year they arrested a woman with 500 sets of false ID and over 100K in stolen checks and property, she was out in six months. LAST month, they arrested her with 1500 sets of fake ID and hundreds of stolen and forged checks, meth and tens of thousands in cash. Wonder what she will do to get 90 days next time?

The fastest way to insure their is no police response, report gunfire. The fastest way to get a response? Report a naked woman. No kidding. Drunk naked woman down at my buddies bar got SEVEN officers. Woman getting beat to a pulp and hospitalized by ex-husband in April? They met her at the hospital three hours later.

Oh yeah, they beat a retard to death in a Quickie Mart parking lot in April. According to witnesses he was standing there drinking a Coke. They can't seem to find the security tapes and said he was a "robbery suspect". They charged his corpse with assault to an officer.

He was a janitor, the guy in the store said he was always friendly and smiling and stopped in every night after work for a fountain soda and a snack. It was his reward for a good job.

I don't want as cop to do my job, raise my kid or fix my life. I'd love for one to do his own damned job sometime. Rant off, sorry it just is not funny when you are living in a town patroled by lazy dead weight with badges who collect 50K a year for harassing speeders and not much else.

Damn, Lonegunman, sounds like you know all about being a cop, maybe you should become one and show everyone how its done.
Haveing been a LEO i know that there might be some poor police but if what you say is going on is ,then some one should blow the hole thing open ! Go to the press they will love the story .But make sure they report the facts not rumors . Just my 2 cents .

Goose out
The major problem I have with some LEO's is the "code of silence". If one of there own does bad they close ranks.

I know they have an "us -vs- them" mentality, that can't be helped. But if an officer is bad, BURN him. He is just another perp.

Doctors and lawyers do the same damn thing.

And no, I am not talking out my ass. I know a lot of LEO's ("some of my best friends are..."), and all of them say the same thing. Privately, of course.

Now that is the truth AMEN..

Ha 213! Thats all, childs play.... Mayors would kill to only have 213 here in B-more! A good year for us is under 300!!! We beat out DC this year for the title of second worst large city in the country....after Detriot...which almost no one can touch...but we try our best!

Maybe one day if they let the law abiding citizens carry guns, we will have a saver city... Ha, I know, one day Hell will freeze over too!

Well, those are larger cities (I think).

Also, IIRC there has only been one TV show that takes place in Baltimore in recent history. Remember the name of the show?

And we CAN carry legally.

BTW, the number went up again. A Gentleman in the hood decided to run over his bi-otch. About six times...road kill!

Being Memphis, we will probably have about 20 shootings with at least 5 homicides today, while W and friend are at Graceland. That should get us in the world news!
