British 17a1. Must have been supplied to the RVN troops and captured. Notice the 300 caliber mark above the topcover/feedway. The Enfields are also a clue.

Took another look at it.

WW1 gun, flush front top plate rivet, ww1 feed lever pivot. Probably a 1940 or 41 conversion.
