I'm getting ready to mark the outside of my 80% Semi RSP and wondered if there are any special markings that the Israelis placed onto them besides the original ones by the U.S. govt? I'd like to make it look as authentic as possible so figured I mark it as they did so on the original side plate. Any recommendations?

Can't help you, I've never seen an original right sideplate that was prior use in the Israeli military as they are all cut off when imported as parts kits.

The only thing I have seen, on pics of demilled side plates, are a couple of small proof markings. One looks like a circle with a Hebrew letter, and the other be a Star of David. with perhaps an initial inside. This was a Westinghouse 1917, converted to a 1919A4 and overstamped. Not uncommon to find A4 kits with the tell tale 1917 left side plate.

I wondered if they stamped the RSP with ".308" or "7.62 NATO" or something like that.

I think I know someone who has a Israeli marked plate on their Registered FA I'll see if he can provide photos.
