Well I thought I was a semi intelligent person but when dealing with the government you can’t second-guess anything. I am applying for a C&R and got the application today.
Question as dumb as it may be: Item #7…(I am just a guy wanting to collect for my own purposes) Am I an Individual? or Other…Collector? I am not a Corp or Partnership.

Question: Do I fill in item 9? I am not a owner of a business or partnership but it is the only place on the application to tell them I am white and have a social security #

Reason would tell you I am an #7, individual and #9, I fill in info but with the ATF if you smudge the ink wrong they send it back.

Question: Do I just send the CLEO copy to my local CLEO or do I do something else with it or take it to them. Sending it to them without a signature or jumping through loops or getting 9 sets of finger prints makes sending it to them sound to simple.

The only simple thing on government applications is how they ask you for your credit card information. There is no guessing there. They make that easy enough for a 2-day-old idiot to answer.

Thanks for any help. Like I said, it should be easy but with the government you never know what “they” mean when asking for information.

UBU….don’t wanna make a boo boo

1. In that case, you are an individual

2. Yes, you are the "responsible person"

3. Just deliver it - someway, somehow - no signature, prints, etc. Simple as it sounds

4. Of course! Taking money is the most important part of any government operation - DUH! :p

Okay I'm looking at my app. from 2000. It must have changed some since then but here goes. I checked "individual" then filled in the info for individual owner, partner etc. so you are considered an "owner". Take a copy of your app. form to the cleo of the town you live in or the county sherrif if you don't have local pd. Hope I helped some KevinT

Thanks

Thanks guys! That is exactly what I thought but just didn't want to get it back later.

I filled out the paperwork for a SBR a few years ago. I even called the BATF to ask about the form. They told me to print it off of their site as I did and filled it out. I got it back 6 months later stating the form was not filled out on both sides but there form didn't have two sides. I called them and they said "Yea I know" we will send you some forms in the mail.
