Shots,, I just clicked on one of the ad's for T shirts,,, I was wondering,, Do you get extra revenue from the advertisers, Google etc when we click on one of them. If this site is generating extra traffic to their site you would think that this site would benifit. I don't know how these things work, but if the members could generate more income for you by clicking on some of the advertiser sites,,, why not?

I'm not one to pay any attention to advertisers,, I buy what I need when I need it,, but if it brings in money to this site???

Except the one for "yeeach"
Hillary,,, ain't going there for ANYONE!!

That's an excellent idea Roc Rat, make them pay for our fun....it does seem reasonable that anyone who advertises as a business on this site, not your occasional sale, but those that are organized companies would pay for banners and such on the site. But then we run into the question of who pays how much...that's a nightmare.

I've always wondered how advertising works,, because it doesn't work with me. Like I said, I buy what I need,, ain't got nothing to do with what some advertising agency in NYC thinks I need. I've heard that internet revenue works by the number if hits a site gets and where they come from,, not necessarily if a sale is made. If this is the case,,, make your daily share of hits on the sites that Google is placing on this site and make some additional money for Shots,,, at least thats how it would work in a perfect world. :)

that is generally how message boards work. they are a business venture for most people. few are actually owned and operated by enthusiasts within whatever particular genre you are posting about. a friend of mine owns a case tractor message board and a few others. he will make about 15-20k a year form them.
