Instead of looking for a job like I should be doing, I decided I was going to spend my time today on something much more enjoyable.
With the price of CMP 30.06, I decided I was going to convert this 1919A4 to 30.06 (from .308). I've had the 30.06 parts for years but I never had a reason to use them until now. As you guys know, to convert to 30.06 from .308, all you have to do is change the barrel and booster, and remove the Izzi .308 spacers in the feed tray. A quick head-space check and I was off.
The range is a fudd range, so I have to get creative to have fun. So I decided I would shoot some 200 yard high powered rifle.
I was a little concerned how the gun would function after the caliber conversion, but it functioned flawlessly. The 1919 never lets me down. What a great weapon.
Well...here's a few pics and my 200 yard target which I fired about 40 rounds at. Not bad for a weapon that has a barrel that recoils and a really short sight radius. The rest of my shooting was at rocks and dirt clods on the 200 yard bank. That's much more fun.
