Just found a few M1912 (WW1 TYPE) squad cleaning kit blued boxes. However, someone has painted them OD. At least they did not paint the wood inserts. How would I be able to remove the paint w/o damaging the bluing...? Would like to hear a few ideas.

Aircraft stripper.

That's what I use when I do tripods etc. Strips the paint but doesn't damage the blueing.

The brand is "Aircraft Stripper" but on the back of the can it says "do not use on aircraft."

Heh.

That's because aircraft have now evolved into a particularly modest species, and are no longer fond of being stripped naked in public....
