I know in the past its been suggested that to flip links so they don't gouge the trunion. I have prefered to use a starter tab which means feeding the links even though I have a clip on trunion protector from Guiette, it is starting to show wear and I know that if I flip the links it will still feed in my gun. So I got the idea of modifying an izzy link with a starter tab and braize them together to make a reverse tab.
Here is a pic of what I did. My welding/braizing skills aren't that great but I imagine that someone could do the same thing with a spot welder. I just cut off the loop off the tab, cut the center loop off the izzy link then put them together....
