I was checking the T&S Manufacturing web site (http://www.99main.com/~heavymg/webpage3.htm) and with the engraving the RSP will run about $300 ($245 for plate and $45 for engraving)

I have seen other RSP costing about $125 but doesn't include engraving and of course sending off to be engraved will probably cost more than $45. Also, I believe T&S includes engraving on the inside stating it is a Semi-Auto firearm and I don't see others with this option.

So....
What is the expected cost of a RSP with engraving?
What is the expected cost of just the engraving?
What is the expected cost of just a RSP? (T&S at $245 was one of the highest)

There are a number of very fine 80% plate manufacturers out there, and the prices do vary to some extent. You probably noted that Sam (T&S) states they heat treat the RSP which not everyone does. Folks may or may not agree the heat treating is necessary but it has to impact the price.

He must be talking about me as I didn't want to purchase the plate as he didn't want to say who is the manufacture of the plate.

Here is my exact reply to the message:
Sorry, but I will pass. It is a good price but I am hesitant to purchase an item that I am not sure where it came from as some post do mention vendors to avoid.

Again, thanks for the offer.

Here is his reply:
That's fine, if my reputation isn't good enough than I guess we shouldn't do business

No one questioned his reputation. It was simply my choice not to purchase an item that I have no idea who built it.

I'll stand behind Brian 100%, as will droves of others from not only this board, but others he's done business on. He's a STAND-UP member of this board, and has NEVER had issues that he has not fought to resolve to EVERYONE'S satisfaction.

Brian, your reputation is seamless! Don't sweat the small stuff!

You've got to be kidding me right?? Brian is one of the most stand-up guys on this board and his work is top notch! But, as you already said, it's your choice not to purchase. That's fine, because it leaves more for the rest of us! :D

I have a few unfinished plates with the Saginaw gear info engraved on them for $145 shipped.

I just found out my reputation for providing quality products is in question, any opinions?
That is just great, your "rep" is in the dumps and I find this out right now! Jeez, just after I get an email from you that my plates have shipped out since you were done "fiddling" with them. Man, a guy just cannot win these days! :p

So do you have any with SG A6 markings??

....I know where they are from....!!!

There may be a storm in Mudville....but I know where Brian gets his RSP's. I know because I have bought several from the gentleman who produces them. I will not divulge the source....thats up to Brian. But I will say that the RSP's he refers to have a FULL denial island, are spotted on the interior, have deeper engarving than just about any one elses and result in a flawless completion of your 1919A4. Brian....NO ONE can besmirch your reputation,as you have performed your machine products gallently and have several HUNDRED satisfied customers who continue to sing your praises. No offense to the member who refused to buy the plate......as he has a right to do. But Brian does not wish to put his source in jeapordy...as is his right to do. I'm trying to get a production run of these very same plates....(50) pcs.,so there is no worry about the quality or any legal question....I assure you......

Hmmm, OK this is intresting..

For starters, Brian, I know your Top Quality all the way.

So lets get to the rest of it. Guys we've been trying to tell folks to go with good parts and componets for quite some time.. KNOW WHAT YOUR BUYING !!!! Now we had someone who listened and it seems to upset folks. How many times have you seen guys ask about a gun there thinking about buying and when asked who made the side plate.. If the side plate is an UNKNOWN there told to RUN really fast AWAY!!! By Us !!!!!

Now if 1919Semi-Owner, or anyone else builds a gun with an unknown plate and someday desides to sell, and someone asked who made the sideplate " unknown" are we going to tell them to RUN also?????

I, myself, wouldn't have any problem refering them to Brian for a sideplate, but not everyone knows things have changed a bit and what we said before, Well, you need to FORGET some of that.....Lou
