after building my 99% Saginaw 1919, I got a 1953 ria m2 tripod to mount it on. After a while was going to an estate sale and saw a 1943 dated tripod sitting in a closet. Asked the lady how much, she said just take it. I still gave her $100. Looked great ect,. Got home and unfolded it, and noticed wouldn't sit on all 3 legs. After close examining noticed the head was warped as if something heavy fell onto it while was opened up. Lil disappointed, but sold my complete post war tripod to fund something else while I searched for a new head. Found a 1955 head that worked for time being till finally got this new head. Not midwar dated like original but still 1945.

Big thanks to John for help.

Matt, your welcome, i,m glad i could help you out with this one
it,s a good thing i did not send you pictures how the legs looked like , from the tripod i took this head from.
both legs looked like a tank run over it, even the T&E bar was bend
the head itself no damage at all as you can see.

i started with about 180 to 190 genuine ww2 tripods, now there are only a few dozen left.
always welcome to help you out !!
regards from across the big pond, john
