Smaller news agency's are saying that SCOTUS is expected to hand down their ruling on the DC gun law sometime Tomorrow.
Have any of you heard that also ?
I am thinking now its is going to be lame ,in the middle or something like that.
They are going to try and distance the DC case away from the 2nd Amendment .
With the candidates we have ,the gas thing , along with the attitude Bush has had here lately i don't think its going to do a whole lot .
I hope i am wrong ,but this could have come at a better time.
Another News report is putting it on the 30th.
Either way people are all saying its going to be more of a compromise ruling.

All I have found so far is CNS saying the ruling is expected this week.

I have heard similar as well. But as I've said all along the SCOTUS narrowed the topic from jump so don't expect some wide ranging decision that will effect anyone outside of the District of Columbia. Most likely they will uphold with Heller and reject DofC. As they should. I wish that crusty old prune Ginsberg would drop dead, POS.....But I digress.....
I literally can't wait to read the opinions; who thinks what. Despite any rulings the opinions will tell where we are headed as far as the Constitution is concerned in the near future.

"This week" -- but I think it'll be handed back to the lower court for review.

Carry On!

Fox News reports from SCOTUS that the session will close and remaining decisions handed down tomorrow, the 26th.

Yeah according to SCOTUS blog.com -

"Tomorrow, the Court will issue its remaining three decisions: Heller (DC Guns), Davis v. FEC (campaign finance), and American Electric Power (energy contracts)."

"As Tom previously mentioned, it is quite likely that Justice Scalia is writing the majority opinion in the Guns case and that Justice Alito is writing the opinion in the election case, Davis v. FEC. The author of American Electric Power is harder to predict."

We should know at 10 am EST.

What is expected if Scalia does write the opinion?...

I bet it will be extremely localized, such as "The D.C. ban violates...."

I hope they rule the people have no right to firearms. :eek:That way, the revolution and civil war we need can just happen and we can get it over with.

Ive always said that SCOTUS was between a rock and a hard place on this one.
Their existence is to enforce and interpret laws made as to their legality within the framework of the Constitution.
They really cant go against that fact, or it means every other SC ruling before that is wrong all the way back to our founding.
And if they did rule against this then that would open up every ruling the SC ever made to other Litigation ,even those not related to firearms.
Liberals are so stupid ,if this happens it isn't only bad for us ,it could open things they hold dearly and put the entire Country on trial.
I believe this case could back fire on the Libs ,they would have been better off to keep their mouth shut ,and just remove or modify the DC law.
Anything else on this will tell volumes on how far the take over of the US has gone ,and the Media knows it.
Or it will show at least one branch of the Government is still working.

Alamo,

They may be insane, but they're not stupid! ;)

FWIW, local LE joke after several recent natural disasters, in the event of a massive national emergency, the govt would implode (in approx 2 weeks) as it would take them this long to dream up a plan. :D

I didn't see all of THE POSTMAN, as I was too tired and fell asleep, but I do recall that there was some series of natural disasters that the details were never explianed. Maybe shifting of the magnetic poles? (which DOES happen). In any case, the government disappeared, and one insane self-proclaimed general said the US no longer existed.

The government, such as congress, is dependent upon us to provide taxes for thier fuel and food, and supplies (As the government does not produce any goods or products themselves). In a major national fiasco, you only have what you have on hand. That's why its important to stockpile food, water, and ammo. Those that don't, won't be around long.

Check it out

Rumor has it that the ruling will be made tommorrow (6/26/2008) at 10:00am Eastern time.
Punch up gunlaw.com Allan Korwin's web site, he also says Antonin Scallia will write the Principal opinion. If Principal=Majority you can guess what the rulling will be. Just need to digest the written opinion, said to be nearly 100 pages long.

The Devil is always in the details

Hay guys the bookies in Vegas are betting on this.
The report i heard on the radio was one of those little ,did you know things.
But what the bets are all going for ,isn't giving us a favorable indication of how people feel about our Government.
The big money is on the SC saying something really lame ,spanking the hand of DC , and saying it was to extreme ,but defending their right to do so,within the limits of reasonable restraint ,meaning a license or permit.
In this leaving the door open for more Gov. control like registration .
Or what they have in Canada.
