The can won't hook on the Izzy guns because the front cartridge stop is in the way.

amish bob - What exactly is a M1919A6 ammo can? I thought they used the same can (box) that other .30 cal used (M1 and M1A1) and these had metal carrying handles as did the post war .30 cal box (M19A1). I think some of the post war M19 boxes did in fact have web handles but I have never seen one. Was there a specific can for the M1919A6?

That's a new one one me or should I say an old one I never saw before. I never even saw a picture of one of those in the TM's. I have probably run across them over the years and had no idea what they were for. Were they WWII or later? We never had them in the National Guard for our 1919A6's but there were a lot of things we didn't have either because the Guard was too cheap to supply them or because they didn't know they existed.

Man, I've been searching for one of those straps also, if anyone has a souce it would be greatly appreciated. I actually bought one at the local surplus joint back in the early 80's. I had no idea what it was when I got it, there was a large bin and they were $1 each! Now that I know what it's for, and have a 1919, the thing is dry rotted from spending 10 years in my old mans barn. I've been on the look out for a replacement for a couple of years now.

i've got a few of them bob. couple different styles. 2 like the image above and one that has different type clips on the ends. going through all my gear over the next few days and should have a ton of stuff listed here this weekend.
these straps are VERY tough to find. not sure about a price on those yet, but i made a note to put one aside for ya. :)

Hey !RIGHT!, if you have another strap for sale I also would be interested in (1). Just let me know price and info. I have been collecting this stuff for over 25 yrs and have never come across them except in the manuals. Thanks for the consideration, Chris.

yeah B. the can uses the pawl pin to attach so it can't have a 308 stop in the way.

will make sure you have 2nd dibs chris.

Super!! Thank you! But please keep in mind that I did ask for 2. I'm not trying to be greedy but there's another board member that is looking for one and I'm hoping to fix him and myself up. I'd be glad to let you know who it is in an email. I'd also like to see a pic of the other style. I'm only vaguely familiar with the one in the pics here ..... and that's only from pics on the net. I haven't come across one in person.....yet ;) ....hopefully, you'll be taking care of that soon. Please keep in mind that I'm leaving for the SAR show in Phoenix Sunday. Thank you again!

I'm leaving tomorrow (Sun) for the SAR show in Phoenix. If by some chance you're going I'd be more than happy to get those straps from you there. If not, please hold onto them till after I get back home .....something like the 7th ... but then I have a gun show here at home that weekend also. But, please don't forget me. You can email me direct at [email protected]. Thank you.
