i think like in my case people just like to be informed and when you cant get a hold of someone or don't hear anything for months things start to drag out. of corse i didnt get mad over the wait i just got frustrated over the deadlines he kept missing, id call hed tell me it would be in the mail and nothing would ever come.... it finally did though and looked great, still need to get around to taking it a welders to fix what i screwed. he is a great guy and if he ever gets caught up and is still doing work ill be sending my vickers stuff to him. but thats the only thing that bothered me about the whole experience, he always tried to fix it though even offered to let me use his gun during a reenactment but i needed to blank fire adapt mine so i had to turn it down.

oh btw sdkwhat time do you go to bed ive been meaning to call you about the ppsh receiver. give me a call if you want anytime after 6 is good, i was wondering if you know anyone i can mail this to fix it for me.

Its already said - but Lonnie will come through - sometimes health can be a problem and Lonnie has had his and a few others share of health problems this past year.

He'll make it right (that's part of his ongoing health problems is he doesn't get fully recovered before he is out trying to get parts caught up - but rest assured he will get caught back up as soon as he can).

If I were Lonnie !!

I met Lonnie last year or the year before when he had first completed his PPSH conversion-- If any of you supposed gentlemen out there have seen the quality and care he puts into a project You would realize he is not a vapor-ware salesman-- Now if I were Lonnie and made an agreement to build something and people started bitching I would just cancel the deal and send their parts back COD-- But Lonnie is just too nice a guy to do that and keeps putting stress on himself to complete other peoples' projects-- So in other words-- If you want to ***** about something go in your bathroom and scream at yourself in the mirror-- Give Lonnie a break or STFU !!

I used to parkerize stuff for people real cheap; I have a formula for USGI Parkerize that turns green about 3 days after you parkerize a rifle. I stopped parkerizing period because people were bitching at me when I needed eye surgery Yes a simple surgical procedure that broke a stitch then after 10 eye surgery procedures later I could see again. People actually demanded that I parkerize their **** because I still had one good eye left !! So if you can't wait do it yourself!

How did I break a stitch in my eye?? About three days after I had surgery a guy I knew called me up and asked and pleaded if I could refinish a couple sight parts for a M-1 garand rifle vintage 1940 I initially told him a couple weeks and he kept calling me up and bothering me. I was taking real nasty strong medicine and it really impaired my judgement- So I said OK. So he walks with me out to the garage, steps on the back of my foot-- and I go flying flat on my face-- My left eye splits the stitch and goes back to blindness-- I go back to the hospital and his parts are still not done until today .Sorry for the RANT !

You could not park with one eye? Ha, I once parked 100 guns while totally blind walking up hill both ways to get to the sand blaster!

You feel better now you grumpy old man? :p;)

P.S. I have talked to Lonnie a few times and he seems like a great guy. I am betting he will make everything right. I sure hope so because I need one of those Semi Vickers conversions.

Just wondered how long have you ben waiting for one? I paid for one the end of '07,haven't heard anything yet. TORQUE
Wow, I bet you dont ask about this anymore. The internet sure seems to make folks bitter. There might be more to this than I am seeing here, but I frequent the boards and didnt know anything about Lonnie. I hope he has a speedy recovery.
I looked back at the thread mentioned earlier in this post and realized what was going on. I must say though I didnt see Torque responding to any of those earlier posts, so if it is possible for me to miss news, then I guess someone else could have also.
Just looking at this from the outside it seems someone got a double grilling from two posters for asking a question. Like I say there might be more to it than what it appears, but if I missed it then I think it is safe to say other members missed it also.

Yeah it was a bit over the top of a reply just considering the first post. I don't think anyone is disparaging Lonnie. The fact that he is a little behind because of serious health problems is a fact. Its not a flame. Someone asking about the how much worked is backed up should not be a problem. Actually it helps me out because now I know he is still behind in his work and so I will not call him and bug him to see if he can do my Vickers work. I hope people like this continue to check in so I can keep an eye on it and will know when to get my Vickers work done.

someone else was kind enough to deflect that first reply for me...

as yes ive answered a lot of "requests" & barbs and snotty comments over the last few months (6months) about Lonnie...

i try to always be civil, but sometimes it doesnt happen. time after time ive heard people exactly as old tired iron said: where's my stuff? wheres my stuff?

and that i KNOW for a fact that Lonnie is making ZERO on any of this makes me a bit testy for him

the idea of Lonnie ever making a dime went out the window before he got hurt and the orders started rolling in and now he's just absolutley covered and cant get healthy long enough to get caught up...

Lonnie has offered to send peoples stuff back to them and their money if thats what they prefer.. but after people wait for so long then thats not even good enough for them.

if you ever offer a service or a conversion up to people you will realise very quickly just how tough it is to make ANYONE happy.

trust me, ive found this out the hard way and will not make that mistake again. im completely baffled as to how Lonnie has remained so calm thru the whole thing...

calm but stressed, its really weighing on him that he hasnt been able to get caught up or even healthy yet. can hear it in his voice when i do get to talk to him.

thats all i got on this for now. if Lonnie gives me an update everyone will see it here.

I understand there is a line for Lonnie's work and I am willing to wait on the vickers. Is there anyway to get in line? Does anyone know if he is making any extra conversion pieces during this run of parts for the Vickers?

Again, this is meant to be a post that indicates that I am impressed with his work and would be willing to wait. I understand he has more important issues in his life at this time than gun conversion. If there are conversion parts I would be interested. Just don't know how to reach out to him or want to put any other undue stress on him

Regards
