my opinion is to skip that and go with KMP (karma metal products) tomt (proprietor of kmp) posts here quite a bit. i have 2 of his side plates, and 3 sets of his trigger and sears.

really go with him. the price will be about the same, you don't have to wait for the group buy issues and really the products are tested by the rest of the forum members here.

have 30calmachinegunner do your internal milling, and he will install the trigger and sear and i think a trigger return spring. all for a very reasonable price.

So, what's wrong with TNW, Inc's products? Why is KMP "better" than the TNW parts? The plate being offered by TNW in this deal does NOT have any engraving on it. Is the KMP plate engraved?

I don't think you have to wait on the group buy at Weaponeer.net. It is not a group buy, per se, it is more of a package deal being offered to weaponeer.net members. CC orders should receive immediate shipping.

Nothing is wrong with TNW, but some people have a sour taste in their mouths
because of the negative advertising TNW has done about those who build these
in their garage........ both are approved designs both do the same thing, but when
one company uses scare tactics and tries to put all builds not using TNW parts
into question as to their legality....... well they have lost favor with many in the 1919 & M2
communities. Because of this many people prefer to us Tom T's Products, I have his trigger & sear
combo in my just built 1919, I had an issue with the upper part of the trigger breaking at it's axis
point, I called KMP spoke to Tom and a new one was sent out no questions asked. So
that is the reason many prefer KMP outstanding product which they stand behind.

nothing is wrong with their products other than their attitudes towards this community. and i didn't realize that it was not a regular group buy. i did realize that the "retail price" was pretty ridiculous when the sale price is what the others are selling theirs at normally. tom totally backs his products and has been pretty helpful to those here who needed it so that gets my vote any day

....aaa+...

Kudo's for KMP and owner TomT. He has probably had more of his trigger/sears installed and running than any other Mfg. I have used his products on over (30+) 1919/1917's and (2) M2HB .50 BMG's....never any problems. Fast, friendly service and great products....and he will actually TALK to you if you call and ask for help....!!!

WOW. I had no idea about the "negative" advertising thing. Personally, I have never seen it so I'll take your word for it. I know BRP was more than bit short with kit builders who had purchased their fine MG42SA receivers. I presume we are talking about the same type scenario.

The only thing that has made me a bit hesitant on the KMP trigger has been the breakage issue. Now, I have heard a great many things about WHY the trigger breaks and most of it is NOT related to quality control issues with KMP but, it is quite an inconvenience even if the replacement part is fully warranted.
I am courious if the WLA trigger is superior in regards to strength. It appears to be far more "substantial". My impression of the WLA trigger is that it will resist breakage much better.
Have any of you used the WLA trigger/sear?

kmp trigs

thanks for the good words guys, i appreciate it !! tank. things do break. i always try to track down why. usually someone forgot a cut, or had clearence issues. sometimes they just break, and i haven't a clue as to why. i check hardness, size, and tolerances. and it just happens. you have to remember these go into thousands of guns, with a varying degree of building expertise. and sometimes, they just fail---and i hate when that happens !!!!we really try to make th best, thats all i can say. thanks. tomt

I'll chime in for Tom. Although I know Tim Bero and Tony Wendling well, I've used Tom's products on 170 builds so far. I will continue to use his products. My personal gun has had 12k run through it, two 5k tourture tests to see if I could tear it up, only part breakage was a 60 year old firing pin. His product WORKS!

I have many thousands through my KMP trigger and sear with no issue. It is important the the internals be milled right, some folks omit this and Tom still replaces the sear.
Tom has always been there of us in the past. Without him we would be at the mercy of the elitists in the industry. Tom provided the parts at affordable prices when everyone else wanted to sell you a complete gun. The others are selling loose parts because Tom set the standard in the industry. They came around to builders wishes because of the market Tom and our group created. Had there been no Tom T. there would have not been affordable 1919s
