I see that Akins old site firefaster.com is down. This was the "stay tuned" for more info place for those of us who have the springless wonders. Oh, well. time to kiss the $$ goodbye and move on. Still trying to figure out what to do with it besides sending the whole thing to ATF and the heck with it.

What? You'd throw away a perfectly good 10-22? Take the crap off it, buy a normal stock and you've got another 10-22. Turn it in? Hell, send it to me. I can always use another 10-22 as a base for another suppressed firearm. Been thinking about seeing how quiet a Mach 2 can be.

I can understand your frustration, though. That'll teach you guys to quit asking for ATF letters and such nonsense. The damn thing was approved and perfectly legal as far as ATF was concerned. The constant bombardment of people asking over and over if the thing was legal made them relook the thing over again. Anytime we have something that's too much fun, someone always has to go and spoil it. The gun followed the letter of law to the last period.

Next time someone comes up with something good and it gets approved, just STFU and buy it.

Correct SDK, I bet you know just whom the one individual I's referrin' to is... He probably singlehandedly caused the demise of the Akins device.

And Buffler, I didn't mean it as an attack. Not at all. I figured if you were gonna chuck it to ATF, you could just chuck my way....

If you reread it, my advise was to restore the gun to original.

Shattered, I did reread it, and I took it the wrong way. I apologize. sdk, I think that I remember the tail end of what you are referring to. Anyhow, I'll take the advice from both of you and just tuck it away someplace. The 10-22 is back to original configuration and goes in my truck. Still, it is frustrating.
