So Cal Benefit Shoot, for Wounded Warrior Center, Camp Pendleton.

Gentlemen. I have important news to communicate!

On October 4th, 2008 there will be an event that will make all members of the belt fed community proud. In support of the Wounded Warrior Center, Camp Pendleton Chapter, a fund raiser will be held at the Lytle Creek Firing Line in Southern California. A portion of the range is being reserved for our new group. We are planning on attracting shooting enthusiasts from all segments of the sport, with the attraction we have already developed in our belt fed events over the past few years. Since our presence was the main factor in bringing in a range-record number of paid shooters and visitors at our last event, George W had the idea that we could leverage that and use the appeal to support a worthy cause. A few of us have been having lunch meetings to begin planning this and we feel we are ready to make it public.

The basic format will involve a select number of us that will set up a range of belt fed guns, as well as many other interesting firearms, that will be available to the general public for a donation. This will be similar to the way many full auto shoots are done. Remember that this is California, and so the opportunity to fire a belt fed semi is as appealing to the average shooter as getting rock and roll time is for others at KCR or OFASTS. All money above the cost of ammo will be donated directly to the Camp Pendleton's Wounded Warrior Center. In addition, there will be a BBQ going full speed, with donations above food costs again going to the Chapter.

All attendees will pay the normal Lytle Creek range fee, sign their release waiver, etc. For the general public who want to bring their own hardware to shoot, after donating to get some time on a belt fed or a .50 cal bolt gun, a large portion of the range will be open for regular use.

Now we have many details to work out yet, and more information will be following. But we wanted to start getting the word out. In recap, here is the most important information for you all to know for now.

What: A CHARITABLE EVENT to benefit the Wounded Warrior Center, at Camp Pendleton.
When: October 4th, 2008
Where: Lytle Creek Firing Line, in the San Bernardino Forest
Who: SoCalBeltfedshooters. That includes everyone in our 1919 community who wants to help out our brave men who have sacrificed so much for us all.

Please contact me at [email protected] for more information. Or, you can reach George W, DRH and iRIGHTi through the board here.

With your help, gentlemen, we can do something great!

If I can make it out I'll bring some 405gr loads that I have for my 454 if you want to give those babies a go.

They're right up there with some of the 500 S&W loads unless you're loading some of those 700 gr hardcast bullets that are out there.

I've been out of touch for a bit with my 4 kids out of school for summer and my girlfriend being very ill, but have heard a bunch of stuff was going on here and some people aren't happy. I hope we can all be positive and everything gets worked out. MOD Kali, do not modify my post or delete this thread without consulting Shots. Thanks.

1. Our So Cal Beltfeds shoot to benefit the troops will be held on Oct 4th, 2008 at Lytle Creek Range. We have reserved ranges Bravo 1 and Bravo 2 for this shoot.

2. We understand there is going to be another shoot held by Rich/1919A4ME the weekend before ours. GREAT! 2 chances for everyone to shoot, or for those who can't make it out the 1st weekend, maybe they can come out Oct 4th for our Wounded Warriors of Camp Pendelton benefit shoot. More opportunites for beltfed brothers and newbies to shoot is just fine with me!

3. We are not trying to compete with anyone. Our group which I've called So Cal Beltfed Shooters, or So Cal Beltfeds for short, ( I own the domains www.socalbeltfedshooters.com, www.socalbeltfeds.com, www.1919bmg.us, and www.1919bmg.com and they are also each in use trademarks of mine ) has been shooting at Lytle Creek for many years now. Many of you have been out to our shoots and know GW's black hummer with turret mount, my twin mount, and all our other fun stuff! Many pics are on this forum, other forums, and various web sites. The only site up right now is www.1919bmg.us to promote the benefit shoot and my 1919 function drawings (the site is still under construction).

4. In the appx 14 months since Rich moved to AZ, we have had appx 10 desert and Lytle Creek shoots and become more involved with Lytle Creek management. They are also a forum member here now. When we plan and post a shoot here on the forum, we've already called Lytle in advance and reserved the upper two ranges (Bravo 1 and Bravo 2). Last time out, they even had a dozen extra steel targets set up for us! They are a great group and a fantastic range! Props to Lytle Creek Range! Last time we were out was their biggest paid shooting and attendance day EVER! :)

5. I can and will buy and use any domains that are available that I want to. This is the U.S.A. Not China! Like I said above, I own ALL the domains and trademarks listed above. MODERATORS DO NOT DELETE THEM or the words as I have given exclusive permission for their use here to promote this benefit shoot for the troops. No one person owns the exclusive rights to the words, "beltfed shooters" and any/all variations for the entire planet.

6. Our point in doing this shoot is really two fold:

a. To have a shoot where the proceeds, including food sales, go directly to the Wounded Warrior org out at Camp Pendelton, CA. We have been working with Wounded Warriors and Lytle Creek for appx 2 months on this and they have approved our benefit shoot request. Hopefully some of the wounded troops will be able to make it out to the shoot as well. We're working on that.

b. Here on the forum, California takes a beating sometimes for all the jacked up laws the anti-guns test here, (some passing) then try to pass in the rest of the country. Why we still live here...can't have guns...AW laws...all the laws and on and on. We understand, but we love to live here (most of us that is!). We really don't mind the ribbing we get from some of you guys.
And as a matter of fact we are actually doing this shoot with the added intention of giving other forum shooting groups in other states the same idea that we have. That is setting up local shoots to benefit the troops in all the states 1919a4.com forum members live. Every state has a Wounded Warrior or similar organization. We would love to see other shooters here on the forum organize benefit shoots for the troops in their own states. It's all about helping the troops while enjoying our beloved sport of shooting.

2 shoots? Fine with us! Just more chances to chuck lead here in So Cal! We will not be dragged into a mud slinging waste of time. We are not telling anyone not to attend Richs' shoot. He hasn't even posted any info about it here on 1919a4.com.

Rich makes great and innovative products for our beltfed community as you all know. (www.shoot1919a4.com) I appreciate all the custom work he has done for me personally! I don't make mounts. I shoot. ALOT! As many of you know. Me and/or our group are not in competition with anyone else in any way. It's all about helping the troops.

We look forward to seeing you out at Lytle Creek on October 4th. :)

A few questions for the people that are asking about this shoot.:)

1.If they attend how much are you selling your ammo per shooter?Basically how much is each round costing and what are the amounts you are seeking for a donation on top of that?People need to know how much $$ to bring.:)

2.Do you guy accept checks? If so who are they made out too?

3.Also for the people who would like to donate to your Charity and are out of state do you guys have an address they can send there checks directly too?As some people would like to use there donations as a tax write-off.:)

Good luck with your charity event hope you guys make lots of $$$:)

Great questions, Rich. We have rough figures worked out on the costs. All those supplying the guns and ammunition will be reimbursed for the replacement costs of ammo, with the balance going to the Wounded Warrior Center. Same for the food sales. Straight donations also can be made, checks payable to the Center directly. As I am sure you understand, we would request that any such donations be sent to us, so that our event can accurately account for all monies raised as part of our direct efforts. That is critical to measuring the success of the event and assuring that more can be done in the future. However no checks made out to anything but the Center can be accepted, as I see it. We are all volunteering, no one is getting paid. Reimbursement for costs is required so that such an event can be repeated, and we, as organizers, will be making our own financial contributions to the WW Center. Also a raffle will also be part of the event, with 100% going to the Center. We are still assembling the items for that, working with a number of businesses to donate. My own business will make a contribution to the raffle, for example.

As soon as we can, all such details will be posted here. Also, an informational contact e-mail will be made available. We have a lot to do and want to get everything right. None of us have done this type of thing before, so we are learning as we go. We ask that everyone bear with us for the present and all questions will be answered in detail as soon as possible.

Thank you for bringing some positive energy to the thread. :)

We have decided to use a donation of $10 as the base price for each shooting experience. The ammo count will vary with the ammo costs. We have tried to make the prices affordable to ensure maximum lead slinging yet ensure that the charity will have a descent donation at the end of the day.
The round count allotted for each $10.00 donation is as follows: (multiple donations are encouraged)
9mm______________25 rounds
7.62x39___________25 rounds
.45ACP____________15 rounds
.223______________15 rounds
.30-06____________15 rounds
8mm______________15 rounds
7.62x54R__________15 rounds
.308______________10 rounds
.50 BMG____________1 round

We are also going to have a small .22LR shooting gallery for the kids and Curio and Relic weapons available to shoot.
This opportunity to come out and try an array of weapons, many that are not readily available to shoot, should not be missed!
