i highly doubt it and am honestly not worried about it. i make sure that i follow the letter of the law in accordance to all of my firearm activity to keep sure of no issues. in the present. as for future. it is a hobby. an expensive one but a hobby none the less.

After the port arthur massacre in Australia they had a country wide ban on all high capacity firearms, but there was a tremendous incentive to bring them in you got paid top dollar for junk. From what I learned from the gun stores there, people were getting as much as six hundred dollars just for a barrel. The back end problem, from what I was told, is that gas taxes went up tremendously to counter the gun buy back program.

Hmmmmm:confused: You don't say.
Back to the topic, I would not worry about it a close friend got a deal on 3 Ar's and got them at once, the next day the athorities came knocking to make sure they were for him and he didn't buy them for someone.

what authorities?

when the 4473 is called in they just say handgun or long gun don't they? not quantity, not the serial numbers nothing else. the dealer must have had questions.

Well, I can't say as to other states, but in TN, when I call one in they ask about handgun/long gun, and also the make, model, type (revolver, semi pistol, semi rifle, shotgun, etc.), caliber, and serial number. The info gets dumped from their computers at each midnight, though, so the only paper trail I know of is the dealer's hard copy of the 4473, the receipt, the fingerprint card, and A&D sheet, which are kept in the dealer's files and only turned in when/if the dealer goes out of business or gets a request on a stolen firearm.

I recently picked up 8 Nagant pistols in one buy to finish filling up my Russian Nagant transit chest and I've been expecting a visit, but nobody seems to care...
Now you just touched on another subject!

Why are the Nagant pistols so darn cheap

and the bullets so darn expensive?

I have one that I bought about 8 years

ago, the bullets were just as cheap as the

gun was cheap! Now their up to the roof!

btw: going to the York Gun Show May 3rd

to pick up 2 guns and maybe a third!

I recentlyt interviewed a gent from Australia that is now a permanet resident in the US. The reason he is here is because of his loss of firearms rights there. He owned machine guns and they were registered in thier system. they did pay him some huge bucks for them so he did quite well considering.

he also went on to talk about the regular firearms buy back program and what exactly happened there. Statistically the Australian government did NOT buy back enough firearms to even cover the known records of the SKS type firearms known to be imported. there are TONS of guns still out there....nobody is turning them in. he also said the Aussie gov proclaimed the buy back program a huge success even though it was a huge failure and cost the Aussie people tremedous taxes to do it.

I can remember days where SKS's were sitting in gunshow racks for 69.00 new in cosmo. Colt 45's could be easily bought for under 400.00. Winchester model 94 hunting guns used could be bought for 125.00. Ruger MK2 pistols were all over for 150.00. ........This isnt; even all that long ago...early 90's maybe?

I always here people talk about the good ol' days......THESE ARE THE GOOD OLD DAYS!!!

Buy your toys now, skip a meal, cut the neighbors lawn, sell some plasma, pawn the wife's jewelry that is now almost worthless anyway and buy IRON....Shootin' Iron that is. .........and some lead too:D

feds came

My wife bought several firearms at one time and a few weeks later the atf was there checking her out.....just checking to see if we bought them for ourselves or for someone else....strange because i thought they were not told who purchased what......but the dealer did say he had just been checked and that they wanted to know if anyone bought more than one rifle and they were especially interested in SKS type rifles..???

so who knows what is really going on.....just be a good little fellow and hope they never get the notion to grind you...cause they could.

If I had $25.00 for every gun I ever owned, I could retire!

Wait a minute  ......I AM retired! :D

Buy and owning isn't a problem. safely and securely STORING them has gotten to be a bit of an expense though

First of all, the name of the program as a "buyback" is a misnomer because since the gubbmint never owned the firearms there's no way to buy them "back."

As to the records going into a computer only to be "dumped" later (ie., at midnight) that's simply not likely to effectively erase everything. Think about how they catch all those child pornographers and corporate scammers by confiscating the (?) hard drives and reconstructing the entries.

It just seems that gubbmint "control" of firearms could never be truly effective as long as folks would be allowed to possess dremel tools, files and hammers, etc. Shouldn't gubbmint (society) focus on social "reforms" like parental responsibility? Let the gang-bangers see their parents horse-whipped in the public square, then we'd see some "reform" !!!

Carry On!

Because the guns are crap and everyone is charging out the ass for ANY kind of ammo... because they can... and you'll still buy it.
