Well I just got off a long weekend of work and snow and thought I would wind down with trying to figure out where everything would go in the spare parts box and pouches. I followed an SNL A5 dated 1941 for the M1917a1. I am missing the sear and the spare barrel as to to the spare parts, and for the tool roll I am missing the pliers, a punch, and the leather funnel, and a barrel reflector. I have several of the other tools and accessories they just are not pictured yet. I guess I will work on it later this week:D . Chris

And if you know where I can find one of these cans let me know please. I need 1 or 2 for both spare parts chests. Thanks

I too am Impressed. Now I have a good idea of how the stuff fits in the box. I have a question .. What fits in that small block with the hole in it that is in the upper left section? The only thing I found that fits is the belt feed lever pivot? Just wondering. Again..very nice. Takes a long time and a lot of work to gather all that stuff up!

TG, that is where the leather funnel fits, look on Nosegunner's website in the accessories section somewhere(can't remember right now) and he has pix of a leather funnel used to put in the top hole of the jacket when pouring water into the jacket. Hopefully tonight or tomorrow I can get some pix of the gun with all of her accessories together. I just hope my wife never finds out how much all this stuff has cost.:D But it all has been cheaper than the kids by far. Chris

Wow, that never crossed my mind about the funnel. I dont have a GI funnel but I do have a british vickers one for now that is real similar. Thanks for clearing that up!
And you are right about the cost of the stuff. If the wife finds out, use the excuse I do...its an investment for the kids future college fund and then secretly hope they get a scholarship so you wont have to sell your stuff!

Funny we are talking about the cost of this stuff, I was just looking through some of the open talk forun and saw the ebay add to the left advertising 1919 stuff for sale on there. Well one of the items is that rectangular shaped oil can that several of us have gotten between $6-$12 ea. and it was up to $50 for the oil can. I may have to start selling while the the zombies are buying:D . Then again I may hold on to it all to use against the zombies. Chris

You guys are freakin killin me with those boxes, they are beautiful! Not to mention the funnels, I've never been able to lay my hands on one of those either.
I've been looking for one of those things forever and I've never come across one yet!
Can one of you guys remember me in your will when you croak? At least that way I might have a chance at getting one.

Mouse, If you can beat off the kids and keep my wife from throwing it away when I die, you can try to strike a deal with her:eek: . She is as we speak plotting my death in inumerable ways if I am not mistaken. She asks me to go clean the pool in the wintertime and I get there and find an electrical cord conveniently placed to electricute me if I misstep. Some times when I wake up at night she hovering over me with a butcher knife and mumbling it's just a dream, it's just a silly little dream. and fades away with a strange laugh. Yeah maybe you can strike a deal with her. I am just kidding about the deal BTW. Chris

JMANN, that is a fine 1928 armorers box. You should be proud of that find. Chris

JMANN, very nice indeed. I stand corrected. It is fun to try and track down these things. Were those like the ones OOW had a few years back? Chris
