So you neer some claification, eh?

No myth... steel cased ammo won't bother it a bit. Lacquer is NOT an issue. Nothing else... just shoot it.

i have a semi, and i run steel cased silver bear in it without problem. Obviously i dont heat it up like a F/A would, but i like silver bear because it has a nickel plating or something on the casing which didnt seem to come off in the chamber like the laquer coating on wolf.

the laquer isnt the problem, its the fact steel doesn't expand to fill the chamber like a brass case will. so because it doesnt expand carbon and fouling build up in the chamber. so if you fire brass AFTER you fire steel when the brass expands it will "glue" itself to the chamber because of all the fouling.

Interesting read. I haven't really noticed any problem though at the last BulletFest when I ran 1200 rounds of Romanian (my last) and then ran the Yugo for the rest of the day. Never had a problem, no reason to eyeball the brass any harder than normal. (Usually check the first handful of empties to see if there's any headspacing problems).

Experienced no hiccups and never really checked to see if the berdan wastage was discolored. As long as I wasn't showing signs of excess headspace, it was hammer time.

Next time, I'll look.
