After watching The real Charlie Wilson on the History Chanel I saw that this SOB drunk druggie pu--y chasing dumb as- ,on OUR tax money, is a possible reason for 9-11. If this ahole was not in office for 27 years the Russian Army might have killed Osama and a few more rebels in Afganistan. Wilson wanted to fight the commies and help the poor people to rebel the Russians. I for one think that we(the US) needs to keep our nose out of other countries. If you add up all the money the US has spent overseas since Vietnam it would make you sick. If Russia has a "war" with a sandbox like Afganistan why should we care,,then Russia can deal with the outcome. Now we are the big enemy after we helped kick Russia out because we(the US) didnt stay and "help" the poor country in question.This is a perfect example that we(the citizens)need to place term limit's (like 2 terms) on senators/congressmen. But no,,they voted on NO term limit's for themselves. We need to take care and spend money on our citizens.Wilson was so smug with himself,,he didnt even care that he possibly caused the hate of the US and 9/11. Watch the show on TV,,I have seen enough and dont think I will spend 1 buck to see his life glorified. I like Tom Hanks but this is just a movie role for him. Plus we can thank Ol Charlie for .50+ cents a round for 308 ammo.

From what I've read the whole reason the russians went into afganastan was so they could control the flow of heroin,I'm sure thats the reason we help kick them out, the price had probably gone up a couple bucks so they had to do some thing, they don't have any oil so there had to be another reason! Thanks for the heads up on the movie, I like tom as well but this didn't look like some thing I would enjoy.

After watching The real Charlie Wilson on the History Chanel .......Wilson was so smug with himself,,he didnt even care that he possibly caused the hate of the US and 9/11.......

From his recent interview.

The U.S. cut back support and money for Afghanistan after the Soviets' withdrawal and civil war broke out. Wilson regrets the pull back and says that if the U.S. had stayed, "We would have had a friend in the Muslim world which we could use."
With the U.S. and Soviets out, foreign terrorists moved in. Osama bin Laden who fought alongside the Mujahideen, returned to Afghanistan and contributed to the rise of the Taliban regime and 9/11.

Wilson doesn't blame 9/11 on the U.S. withdrawal though.

"We would have had something like 9/11 anyways. I think that bin Laden had his course pretty well set... But when you fight a war, you do what you think you need to do at the time. What seems right at the time is what you do," Wilson says.

Hindsight is always 20:20 but his last comment sums it up pretty well...

I really think the Russians got into it over the opium market. What the hell else is there in that hell hole? I think the US used that war to use new weapons and see how they worked on Russian equipment,since we were in a cold war and our Army would have to go up against ALOT of armor.
